5th gear pull 379hp / 395 lb/ft was the best run. This shop said theirs reads lower a bit because most of their customers are 1000-2500+ hp race cars so they have the bigger heart-breaking roller. I really can't complain! Will post pics later

What was your stock baseline if you did one?

The middle run was 4th gear and the first and third run was 5th gear. First two were done back to back and we let it cool down for five minutes before we did the third pull. This was on BP 93 octane gas with a 1/2 bottle of NOS octane booster for good measure

There's something not right with this graph. The HP lines are super choppy, except for the blue run.
I guess what I'm trying to say is the blue run should be duplicated in the other 2 runs as far as power delivery. The others look like timing is being pulled, or the traction control is kicking in or something like that.

If you look at the graph from burger motorsports, their e30 blend had a dip at almost the exact same spot that mine did. I wonder what's causing this?

Thanks for posting up the graph! interested to see a few more kits run on the dyno. kind of surprised it wasn't a little more! How does it feel in the seat?

Feels great in the seat, but cold tires and wheelspin is limiting my ability to get a good feel for it but it's definitely faster

Why the octane booster? Are any of the pulls without it? Do you use it all the time? Seems to me you want the dyno test to be as true as possible, so know exact what you got.

Prior tank was 91 octane and so when I filled up I had a couple gallons of 91 left in there so I added half a bottle to ensure I'm at 93

Wow. Those numbers are disappointing. Waiting for Dinan_Engineering to chime in before I pull the trigger on this package.

Those number are not what I expected... Might have to bail on this buy.
Dinan can you explain the graph results and power numbers??

Interesting, I never saw that graph. I have had my turbo e36 M3 on the dyno many times though, and that dip isn't good. Something is up there. Boost leak? I dunno

Thanks for posting the graph & pic!

I take dyno graphs with a grain of salt. There has been numerous reports that people do not feel the dip at all when driving the car. Also I read that one owner has had trouble getting traction in 3rd gear with a bigger turbo.

This to me is a sufficient amount of power with the turbo upgrade.

I more or less agree with you, but it's not necessarily the power number that bug me, it's that dip.

5th gear is your 1:1 gear so that's the only real meaningful run.

All told OP is down on power by about 15-20 whp and about 10-15 wtq from what we measured but then again there isnt a baseline to compare to so maybe the car or the dyno is naturally lower then our shop M2 and our dyno. I'm not seeing an engine fan so that could be a contributor to it as well. Doesn't help the situation at least.

The dips you are seeing in the various dynos are BMW's factory programming at play in an effort to control how the car behaves. Its why you see all the tunes have the same blip in roughly the same spot. Its throttle oscillation and the throttle plate closing, cutting air, and thus power. Whereas in the past a BMW turbo car would simply die and fall flat on its face at about 6000 RPM, BMW has implemented a strategy where that loss of power at the top end is mitigated by feathering the throttle plate so that falling on its face doesn't happen. The use of it essentially artificially extends the power curve and smooths out the power so you seemingly are delivering power all the way to redline.

As anybody that has driven or purchased the stage 4 M2 can attest to, you don't feel that dip (even the stock car has the dip although less dramatic). All you feel is a large power increase and it makes you smile. I wish OP wasnt in the dead of winter so he could really open it up but that time is coming. Perhaps a long distance road trip is in order to stretch her legs properly. =)

I just recorded a launch control start to 120mph pull on the GoPro. The distance from the steering wheel to the instrument cluster is really close so I hope the gopro's wide angle lens suffices. I'll upload it and the video of the dyno runs when I get home

EDIT: after rewatching this, it almost looks like it hits the limiter in the 3rd to 4th shift. weird. does the car use traction control when in launch control mode? i was surprised to see the TC light didn't blink at all even in 2nd gear
