And in other threads I see stories from members about OG M2 (N55) being more special(29k units produced afaik) than oncoming S55 M2 Competition. Whatever... Anyway, I still miss my 1M, N54, love that engine(never had HPFP issues). Love my M2, but N55 is the Achilles Heel so to speak. In many ways except sound. M2 with S55, the real deal. I can't wait to drive it. Cheers Robin |

No worries. I had my pregnant sister in the passenger seat. God forbid I go over the speed limit with her in the car!

What'd I miss?
OP, stop taking pictures and writing feedback. Save that for car enthusiast forums.

Otherwise, they could have detuned the S55 even more, left out the CF strut brace, not reworked any of the DSC settings, etc., etc. If they had gone that route, the car would still be called the M2 with no additional moniker. Now subjectively...well, that's what the forums are for, right? So we can debate endlessly about the wheels, redesigned front end, exhaust note, inserts in the seats....

I think BMW makes the diffusers ugly on purpose - I am guessing that is one of the most popular M performance parts...

F82LUV, thank you for the comparison and pics.
IMO, nothing wrong with putting the comparison of the M2C vs M2 in the M2C forum. The primary topic is still the new M2C in her post. She just decided that keeping the og M2 was best for her. I believe she made the sensible decision and I'm going for the M2C myself. Every professional or amateur review shows pics mainly of the new car and talks about it in detail, yet they still make pro/con comparisons against the previous M2. No review/comparo would be complete without it. Both M2 owners and future M2C owners can be helped to make a decision by such reviews. |

OP, I definitely want to thank you for creating this thread. I am 100% in accordance with others who've pointed out that all the reviews we've read to-date, other than MR's, are written by automotive journalists who maybe drove the OG M2 3 years ago and are now writing up the M2C, and in many cases making comparisons against the OG M2! If any of them are like me, with the memory of a goldfish, then I can't imagine that their comparisons are very reliable!
That you have an M2, that you've been driving it for several years, that you're clearly a performance enthusiast all help us on this forum understand the real differences between the M2 and the M2C. Hearing your impressions and your experience and your thought processes help to inform those who are considering upgrading whether it makes sense to or not. And the fact that you went to a dealer and got us video footage and photos is outstanding! So, thank you! |

I am still confused why people are fighting in this thread; while I am discussing child vomit! Lol
F87's post is totally fine! I think M2 owners have the right to post their thoughts and photos of the M2C. They are the same car yknow; just updated.

Done. Talked to the dealer who stated they would buy back the 788's as an offset for new wheels. I'm sure I'll get hosed on the amount but the 788 wheels are awful.... If it offsets what the 763M's are being quoted at the port ($5510.00) it will be worth it. I think...

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marketing It's called ROI Bro. Shareholder's have an affinity toward it. ...and before I get roasted for daring to have an opinion in a public forum...I'm not crapping on the M2C...I'm sure it's a great car in it's own right. New owners will be very happy to have it. OP - out of curiosity - did they allow you to drive the M2C at all?? If it was your allocation and they stood to gain from the sale/trade in, can't see the harm in letting you put a few kms on it, just to be sure. They would still be able to sell it as new if you didn't take it (maybe even work in a mark-up!). |
