I have car ADD. What to buy?
I want too many cars & can't have em all. I used to switch cars once a year or so, but have been toning it down lately. Just sold my latest Miata because I am looking for a rust free Miata to keep for a long time or maybe even another nicely modded LS1 Trans am.
I sold my C6Z earlier this year to free up more $ for house shopping + I have wanted a resto mod 65-67 Chevelle for years. I still badly want the Chevelle, but I would buy one with a good amount of work already done. At the very least, drivetrain already swapped & sorted. (I want LS powered) However, I have never driven a resto mod classic. I have driven stock classics, though. Last night I was thinking, maybe skip another Miata for now & just use that $ to buy more Chevelle if need be or be an adult & use the $ for the house fund not another toy. Finally, before I did buy a Chevelle, I would check the market to see if there are other cars that I may be wise to look at it. Never know what you might like more! I'm looking for input/opinions on what to do and/or what other cars to perhaps consider. Must be V8 or bigger, RWD & in same $ point as the Chevelle. Also, I am wanting something that you do not see on a regular basis. Whether that be the actual car or simply the color. FYI, I do love loud colors. My Z06 was Atomic Orange. I'd be looking for a nice driver. I don't do car shows & I don't want a garage queen. I will be driving whatever I buy. Not really interested in another C6 Vette or a narrow body C7 either. Mustangs & Camaros, short of the 6th gen ZL1, are doubtful to interest me as well since they are so common. Don't really want anything slow either. |

Maybe buy a nicer car?
I used to be the same way (but with shoes) I always kept wanting the newest payless shoes. Then, I got an expensive name brand shoe like Under Armour and it has stopped my shoe buying completely. |

Wut? So UA shoes never wear out? That's like saying buy the most expensive oil you can and you'll never have to change your oil again.

Get the Chevelle, they are seriously bad@ss cars. Unfortunately I never owned one myself but growing up there was a modded Chevelle that ruled the local makeshift drag strip. Soooo cool.

Sex on wheels. Not rich here so I will be looking for something with as much done as possible for as little as possible. Then I will tweak to my liking.

I don't think you're getting it. I never said newest or fanciest. I buy what I like. I've had plenty of nice cars. What I am saying is, I want them all & get bored then move on to something else. Not because I buy junk.

I'm debating doing a frame off on a muscle car with updated running gear and drivetrain. Been contemplating
1970 Chevelle 1967 GTO 1971 Cuda 1969 Camaro 1969 Mustang 1968 Charger Do a modern bug block in any of them except maybe an LSin the camaro or coyote in the stang. Those were my favs. |

I've always loved the older whale tail turbo Porsche, but never driven or even sat in one. No idea what they cost to buy or maintain or how fast they are. I doubt I'd want a stocker. I'm sure it'd be way too slow for me.
I'm sure they are more than I wish to spend or can afford at this point for a fast clean one. |

I know when I find the right cars. I've had my Speed6 for 4+ years. It's my second one. I learned my lesson. I'm not selling this one.
Loved many other cars I have had, but nothing I couldn't live without. Obviously, I enjoy Miatas too as I have had 2 and am looking for a 3rd rust free wellsorted version to keep for a long time. I kept all the mods from my last one to put on the next one. I never do that. |

they are gorgeous, balanced (even with the LS), you'll get the practicality of a corvette and exclusivity of the rx7. I'm sure someone will probably say it, no its not murder if you have an rx7 without a rotary, some people like torque, some people like unreliable screaming engines, if you buy the car, its yours to do what ever you want with it to make you happy. |
