Not sure of the Track Connect's (star-spec vs non star-spec) availability, but I know that the only difference in the tire itself is the sensor cradle.

I don't think you can go by the pictures, and tirerack has been known to have all of that incorrect.

The tire on the left carries the old logo when the Track Connect was invented, but they have since changed that logo for sure.

And then it depends on your region as well. And it depends on the size. My old boss has a 2020 Porsche turbo with PS4S that look exactly like the tire on the right with the new sidewall and everything. So it comes down to region, sizing, availability, etc.

I'd be very surprised if you could get the old logo Cup2 Connect in the USA.

Oh, and excuse me, I need a tissue now.

Frozen Gold 763M + Cup2 + CCB = pure win

I think they're both star rated. I have the connect version. Mine actually came off of a M2CS with only 50 miles on them. I don't have the sensors. BTW, I washed my car and inspected the hind quarters. There are some new nicks in the paint around the factory PPF. I'll be getting a new larger piece installed before another canyon run.

I am all about getting these tires but I definitely need rear quarter panel PPF

I had a set of 788m with P4S* . Now I have a set of 763m with Cup2 *. The difference is huge!! car is transformed, alive, quick to response. Steering feel much improved. But!!! that can also come from lighter wheels too

I can't vouch for cup2* tear on street and how long they will last just yet. So that might be an issue.

But ... and its a huge but. I consider myself a very good driver. No problems in controling the car at all. But when it rains Cup2* are useless. I mean useless and plain scary to drive. Might as well just give up on driving. For that alone I can not recommend this a a street tire. Unless, you wake, check your weather forecast and fingers crossed, hope it doesn't rain. Might not be an issue if you live in Florida, but here in Europe ... it rains ...a lot

I thought about you on my shoot this past Wednesday. It was a couple of Mustang GT500's. The 2019 Super Snake had PS4S tires, and the 2021 had Cup2 tires. The guy trailered them to the location, which was a tiny, clean parking lot. He left me the keys and said "call me when you're done."

When I shoot it's like a clock. I first point the nose towards the sun (12 o'clock), then move the car in a clockwise pattern to 2 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and so on to keep the sun in the same position. That way the colors always look the same (I'm never shooting into the sun).

So I moved each car only 5-15 feet each time, 7 times each, and done.

The 2019 with PS4S picked up a few small rocks on the tread, and was no big deal. The 2021 with the Cup2's was massively different. The tires were literally covered with stones the entire time, and the stones were being thrown up onto and into the side skirts...at 0 mph. I was amazed. I didn't remember them being that sticky. They picked up more stones than my old A048's and R888's (weird).

I'll post some pix when I'm done editing if you like.

Not that any of this changes your mind, but please use the same level of protection that you'd use with a 42 year-old hooker.

Except these Michelin Cup 2's with the star rating are using a similar compound to the 4S star tire

I think there's slightly less sticky than the traditional Cup 2 when it comes to picking up everything as you go

Not sure what you mean by this.

Yes, absolutely there is a difference. The tires the GT500 wore were the older 180 tw version, not the new 240 tw version.

I was at a Ford store today purchasing a new car and they have 4S's mounted on all of the Mustangs

Still riding on the 4S' and they just don't feel stiff enough

I know I definitely need to get some coil-overs but still

I seriously need more feedback on the Cup 2 ⭐️ tire

Any additional information is much appreciated

Street/Occassional track - run the 4s, excellent in the rain and hold up pretty well in the dry vs the SC2s. 4s superior over super sports aside from having a softer sidewall but that improves how the car feels overall imo aside from initial turn-in - you'll get used to it fast.

More track - the SC2s hold up better but require 2-3 laps before they have grip on the track (40-50F ambient day), whereas the 4s stuck from the 1st lap. 4s not as crisp as the SC2 240s, but grip level is great even into the advance grp but they do get greasy once hot.

IMHO, the MPS4S tires are really good for the street. I think if you want a tire to bring out the best handling for your M2 then the Cup2 240 or another sport tire would be better.

This video has been around the forum but I think it deserves a bump. He reviews the latest ultra high performance sport tires.

I know what you're missing.

Few can feel it, but you can.

The PS4S is the obvious choice, but numb. It's the Honda Accord of tires.

You're looking for a more inspiring drive.

Keep your PS4S for the moment, and get this when it's available...

You can thank me later.

Honda Accord of tires… That's a great illustration 😂😷🤣

It's been a long time since I've had some re71's

Are those the re71RS? Hard to read it?

It's the re71 rs. It is a semi-slick. I wonder what the tread wear rating is?
