No allocation from mine yet either. I am first on the list. The HEA car is already spoken for. Keep trying to follow up when I might get an allocation, nothing yet. Supposedly they receive allocations on a monthly basis and they did not get one for February. Hoping for March!

WTF I went to my dealer a couple of weeks back and the guy I've been dealing with showed me the complete schedule and allocations on his computer.
Mind you it is the biggest BMW dealer in the Southern Hemisphere. They've been allocated 5-6 a month. He did say the average size dealers are only getting 3 and some small dealers are getting only 1 or less a month I think those dealers who can't tell you the allocation they're getting is because they aren't getting any! But wants to keep you on the hook to make a sale

Got an update from my dealer .. I got the production number of the HEA car assigned to me and confirmed its in line to be built! Thank god the HEA is the exact build I want so don't need to make changes.
At this moment the HEA is assigned to me but the dealer didn't get a customer allocation yet. If they do I'll get the first. If they don't get it they'll sell me the HEA. Only thing is they may want to hold the HEA for week or two b4 selling it off. So I'm hoping they get an allocation so I can get a freshy no one sat in : |

I wonder since they are holding everything at Port, if they are not releasing allocation numbers until the official release day of the car...?
It would be nice to actually know if I'll be getting a 2016 MY or have to wait till 2017 MY... |

My dealer told me yesterday that he should start getting the word on allocations in the first week of March. He expects at most one at that time, and probably none. Says April and May are better bets.
He keeps his ear to the ground with other dealers, (who he says are already creating a market among themselves for the purchase and sale of allocations), and he has not yet heard from one that actually has been given an allocation beyond the HEA car. |

whelp, it's been 3 weeks since I signed a buyers order, put some more cheese down (at their request), got a 047 build sheet with my name on it AND put in my ED request dates (at their behest and BMW's request to "get him in line") that is what the Sales Mgr told me. He also said it only takes a few days.
I can tell that my call was annoying and eye-roll inducing. sorry, not sorry. anyways my CA said, "your order with BMW was deleted out of the system." WHY? HOW? "probably because it was just during their foot a long time." WHAT? I told her I find this strange bc of what the dealership said and what they said BMW said. "we've resubmitted it w days ago." I still have the same 047 status she also said they've had several meetings and no one has any idea about production numbers or more release info (even about their HEA car), but she reassured me I'm still #1, giving me the bird too i'm sure(insert invisible shake-weight meme). she also tried reassure me my MID-May ED are still possible. irritated

Well, the largest dealer in the Seattle area doesn't have them yet, either. This is a hurry up and wait situation. I have wheels, so it's not a problem that way. It's just a problem in trying to keep from obsessing.

BMW handling the M2 launch differently than with the M4's a while back? With the M4's launch timeline, did they not provide some HEA allocations, then grant normal allocations some time later?

Even though I am #1 on several lists, I am a cynic by nature. This is amplified by the fact we have to deal with an entity like a car dealership. Even though I have done everything I can to secure this car, (Credit check, $3G deposit, signed buyers' order at ED msrp, ED dates submitted and 047 build sheet with my name on it, but somehow was deleted) I still feel as something might happen to prevent it or make it $$$ more difficult. Whether it be "just business" or "supply and demand" or politicking or not friends with the right people or not having purchased 42 previous BMWs. I already lost my #1 spot at another dealer cause the owner is taking the 1st one. If I had a production number and signed all my papers I'd happily wait knowing my baby beast is MINE.

I received word from a dealer in the area that they received 5 allocations for the year (which I don't understand since I thought they were provided on a month by month basis), but thought you all might like to know. Sadly, I was number 6 on the list.

Don't worry about being #6 on the list. People always drop off these lists when the time comes for them to sign. At least half usually bail off lists.
My dealer called me 2 days ago and said they are getting 8 allocations in this first wave. They don't know how many total for the year. I am on the list and they told me they can order cars out of the allocation starting next month to and be prepared to place my order then or lose my spot in line. It's that simple. Get yourself in line because people do and will pass on placing the order and you will move up the list quickly. Just be in a position to do the deal immediately. In other news my dealer is getting only 1 allocation of an M4 GTS. It was offered to my friend who has purchased 6 of his M cars from them. The MSRP is well over $120k and some dealers are doing market adjustments. Some dealers are not getting any GTS's at all and ours is a very high volume dealer. Between his and my family alone we have purchased around a dozen BMW's from them.

I don't know if dealers know their allocations yet. For now they are getting only HEA cars. That's what he told me today.
