I actually really like the old cluster. The visibility issue really isn't that big to me.

Install looks easy, coding is needed, this guy did it on a F30 should be the same as ours.

Wouldn't it be convenient if my analogue cluster mysteriously failed while the car was under warranty and needed to be replaced......with this!

F3x is different from a 2er. From the pictures we've seen of the parts, the LCI cluster looks a little different from the pre-LCI; remember that the entire dash was revised with the LCI. Connectors might match up but I don't know if anyone has confirmed whether it will physically fit correctly...

I'm about to do this in the next 2 months or so. From researching it looks like the LCI cluster connections fit directly with no re-wiring needed.

It also looks like it is identical physically. The LCI dashboard has a different design but it still looks like the cluster is the same size/dimensions.

In terms of coding, as with replacing any other module it must be programmed to the cars VO.

The only other thing in terms coding that might need to be done is to add 6WB to the VO and then recode the cluster module and possibly the the CIC (incase there are added controls and functionality that you can adjust via the idrive). Or worst case recode all modules according to the revised VO.

But given the guy in that screenshot you posted had it done in 10 minutes it can't be that difficult.

Can't wait to give this a go

Well after a few months of waiting I finally received my US (MPH) LCI cluster. Now if only my car was out of the body shop so I can do the install. Oh definitely don't do what I did and order part number in this thread lol US version is different. I thought cluster was digital and programmable but it's analog.

LCI Cluster

I'm very interested to know if you have fitted and coded your LCI cluster yet.
I have purchased a cluster and I know it is an easy 2 minute installation (2 Screws) wiring connectors all the same, BUT I can not find anyone to who can help me code the cluster.
I wondered if you had succeeded.
The companies that show on Facebook will not give any help or direction.
It's a bit hard to get my car from Australia to Germany for the recode.

Do you have esys with latest PSDZ all setup? If so, I can assist you. I haven't done it myself since I dont have a car with the new cluster, but in theory its quite simple.

Send me PM.

The best feature is the actual speed that became very big.
Considering that the lcd is the same of the old if someone can share a cafd file I can try to understand is codeable or not on old cluster
My email is gdenora@me.com! Thank you!

The LCI cluster isn't even working properly on LCI cars. Why on earth would anyone want this? It's literally the only thing in the 2018 that's just plain worse.

The size of the speed readout is done via the software on the cluster. I don't believe this is interchangeable.
