40/20/40 split fold rear seat is an option for the M2 available here.

Canada has 40/20/40 as standard.

Some markets have 60/40 as standard with 40/20/40 as option.

Some only have 60/40 and no option.

Why is this always the question with the M2? Why do they always question the smallest, lightest M car as being a "real" M car? I never hear that with the 5000lb M5 or M6 gran coupe. LOL!

Because everyone knows a true M-car must do two things:

1) Convey that the owner is rich

2) Tell everyone that the owner is in possession of a terrifying amount of HP and torques.

'But ilovewagons, you handsome and erudite raconteur, wouldn't a Dodge Charger Hellcat with 1kg of solid gold trim do the same thing?' I hear you ask.

To which I would reply, let's not give BMW marketing any ideas.

Exactly. When the same question would be better posed about those behemoths. No how much power is added, mass is mass.

Because in the collective unconsciousness, a M car is a M3, actual M4 or M2 .....
