I didn't order mine after all. My current winter setup didn't sell. I can't have 3 sets of rims/tires in the garage so I guess I'll have to pay full price if I can move mine.

I ordered Anthracite as first choice, black satin second, silver third. I was #26 of 39 ordered and ended up with black, which is fine but many people that ordered after me ended up with Anthracite. To be honest they are both good choices. BTW I saw your wheels for sale. Have you sold them? I have a set for sale and had a few people interested but never followed through. I have someone in Missouri who wants to know how much for shipping and got an estimate of $660. I may end up with three sets myself!

Perp.. I see you didnt order the TPMS.. Is there a way to shut off the nag chimes or whatever annoyance occurs as a result of not having them?

I didnt realize that.. About these sensors.. I understood that the reason given for their use with runflat tires is that because of the semi-pneumatic-like design of runflats vis a vis their stiff sidewalls, the driver isnt able to feel when the tire is flat. I get that. But why are they employed for use with traditional tires? I think any bozo can detect when a conventional tire goes flat. It kind of annoys me that Ive got to pay an additional $286 for them just to shut up the warning nannies on the dash without any corresponding utility that I can see.. Am I missing something?

TPMS
I did not order the TPMS monitors. $300 is a waste of money to check tire pressures imho. My 228 only had a small circle light that stayed on when no monitors on my last winter tires. Small price to pay.

Presumably you can code out TPMS but I believe this requires a computer and ESYS (Bimmercode can't do it, at least not yet). Apex's pricing on TPMS was rather high, although if those are actually OE BMW parts maybe it isn't too bad. I just ordered my winter setup from TireRack and they charged $55/wheel for TPMS. Also worth noting, the TPMS tell you tire temperature (not just pressure) for each individual wheel. Nice for track days, although I don't know how much it really matters for winter.

Maybe I misread that thread... going back and looking at it again, it seems like not having TPMS doesn't affect the drive modes. I thought I had seen that it did. Apologies.

For what it's worth, my low tire pressure indicator came on while driving yesterday and kicked me into comfort mode. I was unable to switch out of comfort mode until I added air.
