Oh well. Could be worse things to worry about.
OK, so I'm also getting worse MPG than my V8. I got 19Mpg in that. I get 17Mpg in the M2...
Has this settled down for you now? Better

I checked when updating to idrive 6. It gets 17.9mpg. Still worse than the V8.

I've had a deposit down since end of Feb and spec'd an MY17 to get on the system but it's just sitting there on the 077. If I managed to get the car this side of Christmas I would be amazed. Not sure how BMW work but I'm guessing the LHD would be getting the early prod slots. I don't know that. Just guessing. As soon as anything changes I will post on here as it would be good to know if other UK buyers are getting theirs.

Halliwell Jones Chester has an LBB car, unfortunately loaded with everything...but with £5k off.

Looks like discounts are coming perhaps as I'd said in other threads a few weeks back. Unfortunately as it's bloated with M Perf kit too it's...

£57k down to £52k

...but still good to know right for anyone looking. I'm sure others dealers have some discount leverage to play with now too.

Right now there are 31 June registered cars on the AUC site, plenty of choice and good value.
Suspect all must be MY17 though

Well..... I'm in!

Finance to sort but I have figures that are ok for me. LBB pre reg car, non LCI car and used that to push for a fair reduction

Almost fully loaded except electric seats oddly but delighted with the spec. Dealer asked me not to broadcast my deal but very pleased.

Probably just a week out from from collection, need to move some work about

No electric seats = a lighter car. A sign of someone who knows what they were doing.

Indeed, it will save a bit of weight...but electric roof and most other options including HK (heavy sub) etc etc are all loaded in. Not complaining though, some nice toys!

How you enjoying yours, had it long? MH and 6MT was probably my ideal 'heart' spec but at 20,000 mpa with commuiting 'head' goes for DCT.

Congrats on the purchase. Looking forward to the pics.

Appears to be some great deals out there. A number of M2's have appeared on the BMW UK AUC.

Does this mean you've ditched ideas for an M2 CS Chris or is this going to help you get one?

Yes decided to pass on the M2 CS. Looking at the M4CS price!...and the fact it won't actually be the BMW Vision GT (it's taken me 3 years to accept that car isn't real : ) all made me think why not if there's a deal to be done

Picked up my M2 LCI on Tuesday this week. Wasn't even on order. I bought a used M2 in June this year, had issues with the paintwork which BMW UK were arguing internally over, meanwhile my car was sat in a workshop for weeks while I had a courtesy car.

Long story short, dealer bought it back for what I paid for it, and put me in a brand new LCI for the same price.

Extremely happy with the upgrades, and can't fault the dealer customer service, however BMW UK were pretty useless.

I've been doing some homework on the state of the M2 market in the UK. Most people I speak to think the M2 is a good buy at the moment. If you have the money and space I've been advised to buy one, stick it in suitable storage and take it out again in 10 years....

From what I have been told most dealers in the UK have been allocated 2 or 3 cars a year, spaced out with one each 3-4 or 4-5 month cycles. Some dealer more, some dealers less but when you apportion it out among all the dealers it's repoted to be about 450-500 cars a year coming to the UK for each full year of production.

All the dealers I have spoken to in the South East of England (and I have spoken to a LOT of them) have 'sold' their 2017 allocations with some claiming to have sold '18. All have waiting lists for '18/LCI & M2 CSL.

Sales started in April this year with dealers selling the first stock of demonstrators and to the 'lucky few'. Within days of going on sale cars where available via the independents with asks of 5-10K over MSRP. I've kept an eye on the stock and they sell - for what I don't know but they sell eventually.

A check on the old AutoTrader displays 43 M2's for sale right now today in the UK. Of these 43 cars listed over half of them LBB DCT's. 10 White, 3 Black & 2 Grey and only 16 manuals in the whole set....

Some quick math, assuming 450 cars a year which is close enough to 38 cars a month. With delivery starting in Aril and we're in November now. Let's say 8 months at 38 cars a month would be 304 car delivered to the UK thus far. So that's about 15% of all the cars available for sale right now. Draw this out with the cars already sold and I recon it's more like 20-30% have been bought and sold on the secondary market.

I'd be interested to know the real volumes but it appears to be a buoyant market right now. There appears to be buyers at these premiums - somebody is taking profit - which is counter to the advise I've been given. Is this car a better short term 'sell'?

What do you think, are the dealers reporting long delivery hoping to drum up demand and create profits? Is BMW deliberately constraining supply to maintain demand in the marker? Is the M2 a hold in the hope it becomes a collectors item a la. 1M?
Just revisiting this thread, what do you all (uk) think of lead times and allocations now? June/July was maybe an odd scenario with the LCI coming up but my local place had 4 onsite cars! Each one available to buy, one was used, one pride of place front of showroom and 2 showroom pre reg(one of these now mine).

Other than that I still hadn't seen many in the roads at all and no more than 1 in the dealers at any time.

There is a reasonably good crowd in the north London, Thames valley area.
