Not that dealerships know much but...

I have had 2 different dealerships tell me they expect pre-orders to open early 2015.

I realize many sources say November 2015 and I told them this. They stated the same thing was said with the M3/M4...

Can anyone clear this up as I am in the market for an e92 M3 but will now hold off if preorders are coming so soon.

what's the point of preorder ?

They are taking deposits right now but in the end, they could just have the 1k deposit forever...

there won't be any pre-orders till the options that will be available are all sorted out which I doubt it will be early 2015

BMW originally called the M235i the M2.

If you put a deposit down with a dealer whats to keep them from price gouging you? Seems like they can pretty much name their own price and if you don't like, just go for the next person interested.

Yes, they did. I have a car from March and all my packaging says BMW M2. The only reason I shared that here was to say that form for M2 could have been the old M235i order page.

I have a Week 8 build, March 8 delivery. All my materials are marked "M235i", no mention of "M2". Others have posted that they did get some materials (e.g. letters) mistakenly marked "M2".

Okay. My doc package shipped with my vehicle was shrink wrapped and labeled BMW M2 along with almost every other March delivery I have heard of. Other stuff said M2 as well, but that was the most obvious. I'm not here to argue, it is what it is, proof is in the pudding.

Peace, bro. No argument or contracdiction intended. Just offering an alternative experience. I'm a Canadian who took Euro delivery, so YMMV!

So it was marked incorrectly because somebody left off the 35i.

It's not a full ///M Car and was never intended to be one either.
