I guess most rentals let you buy the car at end of the term?

Even if you lease, 10k miles a year, you can still buy the car for 52% of the Initial value. So if it's worth 60% after 3 years, but it from BMW and sell it. The only downside to leasing is the slightly higher APR.

People don't seem to get that :

Either way an M2 is literally a waste of money. You will lose money. This isn't a 1M
Most cars this side of a Ferrari are a waste of money. They are depreciating assets.

The super lucky will get 9-11% off MSRP, then it will average out at about 7% off for smart people.

Let's say with options the MSRP is 59k, you lock in the deal at 54k. With MSDs you can get the lease payments down to $625-$675 a month. I'm pretty sure.

I'm waiting for the M2 CSL Or Comp Pack anyway. That will easily be a $1000 a month. Time will tell...
I don't think you will be seeing any discounts for at least a year. The wait list is so long that the people who are JUST getting on the list for an M2 now will probably be seeing their car late 2017. No need to discount if the demand is still there and supply is still limited?
Yes I am talking about a year out. Not present times.

Dang!! M3 will lease cheaper. lower payment... i had a 68% residual for 36/12k when i got mine. The M2 will actually hold its value better though i bet. sell it at lease end and pocket some cash.

Yikes, looks like financing is the way to go! Still a better deal than ending up with a m235 IMO

Wow, that's really bad. I'm sure it will get better over time but it will probably take 6-12 months to get up to normal BMW levels (55-62%).

Garage List
2022 BMW i4 m50  [10.00]
I don't think the M2 is gonna have such a good resale value not because its a bad car because that it isn't we all know that. But it more likely gonna have a value decrease as the rest of the M Fleet due to it not being in any limited supply. The 1M holds it value because so few were made world wide and sold.

And its an unique car, The M2 in that aspect is not a unique car BMW want's as many as possible to get in to this car so later they advance to the next level, I bet the new M3/M4 is going to cause a lot of people switching up from the M2 to the M3/M4. (Being that "Oh well i have already bought an M car now i can see the cost isn't so terrible and its okay to live with" Baam Profit for BMW. )

So the 1M did something BMW dint want it to do, Give back the money the owner spent on them in the first place. Why make a car that will sell just as good in a couple of years when they can make profit of the same owner buying a new better model over the last one.

Finding a 1M with around 15 000km on it and not modded well that will make you pay thru your nose to get.

So in that terms i don't think the M2 will hold value better then any other M car, The 1M being the exception of them all and did something the BMW didn't want it to do.

wow that's awful (for people that lease) I though 58% on my M4 was bad, early adopters are definitely paying to play here. This also gives the impressions that allocation will be hard to come by

1-2 months after launch, the residual should go up. And BMW F might offer a low MF to counter the low residual. Just speculating

That's because no one buys Z4s

And everyone is talking about how great the rental terms are on the M2, right?

BMW isn't stupid? People are lined up around the block to get an M2. They will be hacked up, modded, flogged and then given back. And you expect BMW to give people good deals on them and then take them back?

People are delusional!

Bwahaha. That's bottom of the barrel bad. They clearly don't expect to be selling many M2's.

I don't get your logic here. If the owner gets all his money back he has even more money to spend on a new BMW. Why wouldn't BMW like that?

Most on the lists fall off for one reason or another.
