Given what I've seen in other markets I think the closest we can get right now is the relative cost of an M235 to an M2. About a .82 difference. This would give us a US MSRP of $53,800. I wish we would see the US M2 being as good of a deal as what we get on M3's versus other markets (.75) but just don't think so.
The M2 is 75% of the price of the M3 here in Sweden too, so basically 1M money 1:1. It can't be that much different in the US if you consider the 1M pricing.

Try again.
Unless it changed for 2015, it's not a factory option. It's a port installed option. Different development, logistics, and installation costs. If it were factory do you think it would cost $3250?

As for methods, I will have to choose calculation over dreams.
You're actually making my argument look more likely and your $48k (calculated ) figure for the M2 illogical by what you just said. There are dreams but there is also logic. BMW will not make the MSRP $48k for the M2 when a 2 series with limited slip cost more. But if you think your calculations are correct we will have to agree to disagree.

In a short time when they reveal prices we will see who is closer.

It is not surprising that you wish to identify a number and say I've signed up for it. It's called a 'strawman argument'. Common in forums.

My 'calculations' are just identifying existing price ratios. This offers the opportunity for an individual to pick which relationship to pricing may seem more likely to them. If it's .75 of a US M3, you get one number. If it's .75 of a UK or Swiss M2 you get a very similar number. If the ratio is equivalent to the UK M235 to the UK M2 you get a higher number.

As for using a US M235 with the port installed limited slip differential and then adding what your intuition says is about right, shouldn't you also include the leather interior? Gets you up to $49K and change minus destination for the M235 which is $3K less than your guess for an M2. Could be right. Guesses sometimes are. Won't change my opinion of looking at actual data versus dreaming about it.

A friend once told me that you have to be some kind of fool to argue with people in forums. And here I am doing exactly that.

Apologies.. not like either of us care that much and you are correct in that we will know soon enough.
