Is there any concern if I'm like 100 miles over 1200 mile service maintenance. It's petty but I'm being careful.

My service appointment is Thursday

Im confused. Don't ask how I know....But im at 1300....Break in service is tues...

I have a 7k rev limit.

My car does 165+ (display) Probably around 150 reality.

If I really completely shut off Traction control I can spin them through 2nd and chirp 3rd.

anyone?

Yes I shouldn't even know these limits yet. Thats off topic.

Does launch control work? Isn't that the only thing that is activated? I think everything else were rumors.

The Tech actually told me it requires the 0W-30 to ensure I use it when I do a change.

Interesting. All the manufactures are going with 0W these days to improve MPG, but people are worried about the side effects of it.

I use 5-40 Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel in everything. It was on blowout sale so I picked up 20 gallons of it. Not sure about he M2 though. I was thinking Motul. Everything else loved it.

Had my service performed this morning

-Oil changed

-Differential fluid changed

I also asked if I could get the trans fluid changed but no luck. The service manager told me the car was really going to wake up after the service but honestly the car felt the same the only difference was getting to explore the top of the rev range

It has the same viscosity as water. Thats why you keep control of the revs when running in.

Good to know. I don't like all this 0w they are trying to stick in cars these days to get .2 better MPG. Then denying warranty claims for high oil consumption levels

I believe the F80/82 gets 5w-30 as well. I think BMW switched from Castrol to Pennzoil just last year too.

Would transmission fluid change be beneficial or harmful , if paid out of pocket at the 1200 mile service ?

And oil change in the rear differential.

And any idea why the high temp weight difference between W30 seen in some market and W40 in some other?
