How does the Fabspeed muffler bypass noise compare with that of the valved systems when they are open ? Both in terms of volume and quality ?

The Muffler Bypass will be slightly louder than a valved exhaust system with the valves open. It will also have a more raw sound since it will not pass through any form of muffler.

I currently have the MPE on my car and everything else stock and i absolutely love it so i don't want to mess with the sound. That being said i really like the power gains i see from just the fabspeed sport cat so i am considering it however i am scared it will make the MPE too loud or dronny due to the smaller backbox the MPE has, can anyone with experience comment on this is that correct or can i just go ahead with the sport cat with no alteration in the sound ?

Fabspeed Motorsport

I ordered my sport cat on Feb. 20th, and it still hasn't arrived.
Any idea what the holdup is?

---I just called your shop and was told that because of the recent snow storm, and influx of orders, orders are backed up an additional 4 weeks.

Guessing the X-PH mega-order. Been 3 weeks for me, but my original ship date estimate is for the 28th, so not complaining yet.

Mike in Marketing here. In the past month we've received over 35 orders for Sport Cat Downpipes across the BMW lineup - making it our most popular item right now! We did lose some shop time due to the snow storm (out of office / power out), we had two machines go down (got them back up and running fast though!), and we're in the process of restructuring the shop out back to add more fabricators, stations, and more machinery. We currently have a skilled fabricator that has been dedicated to doing ONLY Sport Cat Downpipes to ensure both speed and the highest quality in production. We've also extended hours and everyone is working overtime to make sure we get your custom fabricated parts crafted in a reasonable amount of time. Our current build time is around 4 weeks as a result of overall increasing business and we are adjusting and growing to get our lead time back to 2 weeks and hopefully below that. Please bear with us, we're very passionate about working with the community here and we're going to work our asses off to make you happy!

Thanks for the update, Mike. I'm sure I speak for most if not all of us who interact with you guys when I say I really appreciate how fast you all always are to respond & the enthusiasm you show for the work you do & the community as a whole. Nobody likes a disinterested vendor that falls off the face of the earth once an order is placed, and you folks at Fabspeed seem to be the exact opposite of that.

I just want my new toys!

I agree with everything you said. I also want to say it was a please speaking with Jason at Fabspeed.

My issue is that I scheduled my 1200 mile service based off of the 4 week lead time for DP delivery. I'm getting the DP installed by the dealership at that time, along with some other goodies. I have reschedule now, and it's a hassle. I also really can't drive my car again until the the DP arrives, and I reschedule the service / installation, which sucks.

I guess next time I'll wait until I have my parts in hand

Now you know, lead times are a soft estimation.

At least with the sport cat waiting period, it's worth it.

Yes sir!

Since my last post we've added four new team members in fabrication. You'll be happy to know that our most talented fabricator, Pete, has been put on full-time Sport Cat duty. The guys up front pitched in today to get donuts for all the guys in the back - a well fed Pete is an efficient Pete!

Really? The dealership is installing an aftermarket DP? Fabspeed has really arrived !!

Hope you get yours quick. These things are great. $1 grand gets you noticeably better sound AND more power. Great mod.

Pete is currently prepping the HJS HD catalysts for mating with the inlets and outlets. Next step - rotary welder to apply a precise, clean weld all around the catalysts.
