How do you remove dealer logos?

just took delivery and found this....

it isn't like a sticker where it just peels off. it feels metallic almost. tried a heat gun and my fingernails and it didn't work. it is raised off the paint, not under the clear coat.

should i take it to a body shop or an auto detailer? Help

I'm sorry I can help with advice to take it off, but I would be so ridiculously angry if they put that on my car. And inevitably, they never put those logos on straight.

I bought it from a dealer in Florida because there was an allocation there for me. They shipped it to another dealer in NJ because that's where i live. That NJ dealer put this shit on it. So it's not any fault of the people i actually purchased it from therefore i didn't feel the need to throw a fit or get angry and just decided to be cordial and deal with the issue myself since i wanted the car home and didn't want to end up standing at a dealership all night arguing over a sticker. Any ideas or recommendations are welcomed.

Well that's annoying! Have you tried go gone sparingly? Soak paper towel and use your finger to outline with letters with the paper towel soaked with go gone and wait 10-15 see if it comes off.

Fair enough! Good choice to just walk away and deal with it appropriately. If it were me I'd take it to a detailer, I'm sure they have something that can take it off

Pretty cheesy for a dealer to put that on a car they didn't even sell. They ought to pay you for the advertising. I'd take it back and insist they take it off. Surely you won't be the first to make that request.

They're about an hour away. I'd rather take care of it locally. Probably going to ask a body shop for their opinion. If they can't help then i'll find a local detailer.

I'll see what a body shop says tmrw and report back. If it's inexpensive then i'll just pay for it. i'd rather not sour the experience of buying my first brand new car by getting confrontational.

I had a dealer vinyl sticker on the back window of my car when I took delivery. First thing I did when we walked out to inspect the car with the sales guy was to peel it off, screw it in a ball and hand it to him. "You can keep that" I said.

He just chuckled and gave me a knowing look. Not his fault I suppose.

Final update:

Took it to a body shop to remove. Took 15 min of heat gunning. No charge. The owner even commented on how difficult it was in comparison to normal dealer badges. His exact words: "What the fuck?"

Glad this didn't turn into an ordeal. My advice is: try to avoid these but if you can't, it's not the end of the world. Glad it's off the car.

When I ordered mine, I specified no dealer stickers. I said it was OK for them to add a license plate frame with their name on it (they didn't) which I would have replaced anyway with the M2 frame I purchased off Amazon/eBay. I also specified don't drill holes in the front and install a dealer nameplate (Pennsylvania doesn't use front license plates).
Although my CQuartz Finest paint protection comes with a 'Do not wash' placard, you might want to print the following to keep in your glove compartment when you go for service. I hang several of them (mirror and radio nob) and have them add 'Do not wash' to the work order. You can probably buy them somewhere or search Google Images for other ones.

Well the problem here was the dealer i ordered from out of state would not tell me where they were shipping the car until last min. apparently last time they did a courtesy delivery and told the guy where they were sending the car he called them incessantly and it pissed a lot of people off. So my dealer in florida didn't do anything to my car, it was the dealer they sent it to in NJ (that didn't even make the sale lol) that tried to pull a fast one with the sticker. Luckily they didn't put the front plate mount on or i'd have killed them. Also when i take the car in for service i have it washed right before. they won't wash clean cars, lol.

Good ol' Prestige. I was never a fan of them after trying to purchase a car there years ago. Though there was some positive feedback in the Pricing forum from a few forum members who purchased their M2 there.

Likely just a tech following the typical Pre-delivery checklist. I would still send a note to the general manager informing him they should ask the purchaser in the future before adding those things to the car. May help someone else down the road.

I picked up from Prestige as well and BSM too! Luckily my salesperson told them not to put the sticker on... I totally had forgotten about it and got lucky! Happy you found a solution.

You can take these off with a hair dryer then just buff with a cleaner wax after it is removed.

This was unlike any dealer badge I've ever seen. So thin and close to the paint and metallic in structure. Literally the work of the devil.

Heat and dental floss to get beneath the letters, gently saw back and forth to remove. Clean up any residue.

I mean this happened like months ago so it's irrelevant now lol but that wouldn't have worked. I don't know how to describe this any better. It was one billimeter thick and practically super glued on.
