RS3 pros:
faster in a straight line (90% of my driving is in a fairly straight line )
4 doors
awd (in canuck land)
better interior (srsly a huge plus here, it's where i sit everyday)
RS3 leather seats are softer than the m2
android auto (srsly, wtf bmw?)
gimmicky, but a flat bottom steering wheel and virtual cockpit
at least 5K cheaper out the door for similar equipment (in canada)
unique 5 cyl sound

M2 Pros:
nimbler, faster in the twisties (this is a huge plus for weekend driving)
better looking exterior (again, huge points for this)
possibly cheaper maintenance, but that's still to be seen.

You know here in Canada you don't need awd! The me2 with snow hires handles great as rwd!

Ah come on now... this isn't true. I've had 14 BMWs and on the really crappy days I take my Subaru. When the snow is really deep you'll just get stuck in the M2. Ground clearance is too low. But you can get away with that if you have true limited slip AWD.

There are only 2 days a yr when the snow would be that deep in SW ontario to actually need awd. I've had 2 other rwd BMW coupes and I got stuck once in 12 yrs.

Aggressive snow tires and 100 lbs of salt in the trunk allowed me to drive through a bad enough snow storm where the only other vehicles on the road were DOT plow trucks.

Just saying/my 2¢/take it how you will. #TheDebateContinues

German magazine SportAuto (The best Magazine for sport car tests in my opinion) tested M2, RS3, AMG45, CRV etc.
Please note that the M2 outperforms RS3 in every way but 0-100 and 0-200.
Esp note "Elastizitet" where M2 out accelerates RS3.

This is a summary quote:
"Wie sich der M2 bewegt, wie er sich verbeißt in Fahrkommandos, wie er die Richtung wechselt, am Gas hängt und dir trotz einer gewissen Eigenwilligkeit das Gefühl totaler Kontrolle vermittelt, ist selbst in diesem Kosmos eine andere Umlaufbahn. Oder anders ausgedrückt: RS 3, A 45 und Focus RS mögen über aus sportliche Kompakte sein, der M2 jedoch ist ein Sportwagen im Kompaktformat."

Losely translated:
"How the M2 moves, how it bites away in driving commands, how it changes direction, how it hangs on the gas and gives you the feeling of total control despite a certain individuality is another orbit in this cosmos. Or in other words: RS 3, A 45 and Focus RS may be about sporty compacts, but the M2 is a compact sports car."

Forget the sand bags, mostly a myth/placebo.

These work great if you're really screwed.

Also had a nice test drive in the M2 this weekend, and actually makes me even that much more interested in driving the RS3...the M2 is very good at many things, but there are some aspects that could definitely be better IMO.
