I wonder how much additional ad revenue has been scored by the constant checking of M2 news on this particular site - I bet it's substantial.

What if instead of the 3.0 CSL concept, they actual show off the Vision GT in physical form? The rumors of whatever concept showing going into possible production could line up with an M2 CSL = Vision GT concept.

The question is: What will the new version of the 3.0 CSL Hommage be?
Of course, it could just be just a slightly tweaked version of the existing concept car they showed at Villa d'Este. But it could also be a completely new evolution of that concept car, with stronger hints towards the production M2 CSL (or whatever it will be called). Scott mentions the Vision GT6 and the E9 a lot in the context of the M2, so my guess is: - The standard M2 will get the toned-down Vision GT6 look without the rear spoiler, rear intakes, etc. - The M2 CSL could be closer to the concept cars, including the integrated rear spoiler as seen on the Vision GT6 as well as the existing 3.0 CSL Hommage Quote:
Besides that, I think that the M2 will be a very important car for BMW in many ways. Last edited by sth519; 07-26-2015 at 07:59 AM.. |

The only common theme here is that you guys take what "Scott" says way too damn seriously. What he says IMO should never be used as the gospel. What we'll see at Pebble Beach and beyond might be completely different than what we've read on here.
How many times have we been burnt on this forum before some of you guys will realize that? Personally, I'm still super skeptic about this whole M2 CSL/GTS deal. My 2 cents

Regarding the normal M2, what can be seen on the test mules so far is in line with the posts we've seen from Scott26: Heavily influenced by the Vision GT6 concept design-wise, but with the insanity turned down quite a few notches. Nothing wrong with that. I think it's fun speculating and trying to connect the dots, but I'm not as invested in this car as some here seem to be. I think the Idea of an M2 CSL is interesting, but after all, I just want my "normal" M2 (which I expect to be "just" a continuation of the 1M formula and not some some sort of magic, M4-beating unicorn). |

But I'm honestly more interested in the "base" M2 just like you. If there is going to be an M2 CSL, it'll be expensive and there's a good chance it won't be offered with 6MT (like the E46 and E92). That would be a deal breaker for me.

That said, since this will be a daily driver for me, I also want some basic level of comfort (an opinion that might be a bit unpopular in this subforum). A completely stripped-down car is great for having a go on the 'ring, but it's just not that great for doing 300 mile business trips or commuting 75 miles every day. That (as well as the issue of price) would likely make the "standard" M2 a much better fit for me, but that doesn't mean I don't want a CSL to exist. It just wouldn't be a big deal for me if it won't. |

For me: Options like the regular 2er and ride comfort similar to the M4 would be perfectly fine (I haven't driven a 1M yet, so I can't draw any comparisons here).

For me I would be happy if they just offer one suspension option that is firm and sporty for the M2.i drove the new M3 with the adaptive suspension and preferred it set to the sport plus setting, which was the firmest suspension set up.I don't need any comfort settings for the suspension in the M2.
