Why did I wait?
Hi everyone! After working in the auto industry for close to two decades, with two as a BMW tech, I finally took the plunge and purchased my first BMW...a 18' M2 in LBB.
Frankly put, this car is fantastic. I cannot believe I hesitated to purchase a M2. This car reminded me of all the best qualities of a E46 M3 but more composed. No judgements, I have been driving Subarus for quite some time (owned 6 in my lifetime) and really grew tired of the marginal upgrades in the model line up and, let's be honest, the immaturity of that car scene. I look forward to learning more from others in this community! |

I am looking to make the same purchase as soon as I have found the right vehicle, the OG M2 is my favourite "small" sports coupe!

Not to worry, there's plenty of immaturity in the M2 car scene as well.

Glad to here the comparison with the E46 M3! '02 Sterling Gray/Imola Red E46 M3 6MT has been/still is my daily driver for the last 17.5 years.
Waitlisted for M2 CS. Gonna be awesome! |

That is a heck of a daily driver! The E46 chassis was one of my favorites to drive and work on. BMW puts a lot of thought into the design...really makes working on them a joy. I see a lot of this in the current model too. As to the driving experience, all of the E46's drove great IMHO. You could get into a 323i or a M3...both were great in their own ways.

I owned two Subaru WRX's - (the last one a 2017 iirc so it wasn't like it was a 2002 model) before trading the last one in on the M2 - there is *no* comparison - shifter or anything else.
The M2 is so far superior in every single way it's ridiculous. |
