What do you use to clean your tires?
I normally don't think about brown tires much because I buy tires new and they have Armor All from day one, and every day thereafter, so they always stay black. But recently I purchased a set of used wheels and tires and the tires look like they have never had any dressing at all, so they are very brown.
My issue is that the wheels are extremely expensive, so I'm really wanting something I can spray on and rinse off (without scrubbing) that won't damage the wheels. My first thought is to use AMMO NYC products, like Plum, but I don't see that it's made just for tires. DetailersDomain also has a product that looks pretty cool, but Amazon has a total of 2 reviews on it. https://www.detailersdomain.com/coll...e-tire-cleaner Any other recommendations? |

Gyeon tire cleaner is quite good
Any apc (all purpose cleaner) will also do it (with a mothers brush for instance) |

Reality is that you won't really find anything you can just spray on and rinse and expect to get the oxidized brown rubber off that easy.
What really good tire product you use will require probably several applications...and usually a good brushing with a good brush. Too soft a brush and you'll at it a long time. If you are worried about the wheel being damaged, then get painter's tape, and mask off the entire circumference. Yes, a bit time consuming, but it works for what you seem to desire. Then apply a good tire/rubber cleaner like Griot's (works well for me) but even then, if tires are really "browned" then you'll need to scrub with a couple applications. Frankly when I have had your issue in detailing cars, and after fully tape masking, I use a SOS kitchen pads...they have soap built in and they get the brown off. When tires are to your satisfaction, rinse, remove tape from wheel. But commit to some real work on it. You get a win for both tire and wheel. |

They aren't quite that brown, I just figured there was a product on the market to remove the antiozonant specifically without causing any harm to anything else.

I like Gyeon tire cleaner to clean/scrub, then dress with Gyeon Tire…no obnoxious shine, just a nice clean looking matte finish.

I use Adam’s tire and rubber cleaner and this tire brush and have had good results. I’m not sure it would be effective without a little agitation from the brush though. I finish them with Ammo NYC mud.
I usually wash my wheels when they are off the car where it’s easier to be precise and not touch the wheels with the brush. I haven’t compared to the other products mentioned. https://adamspolishes.com/products/a...rubber-cleaner https://www.amazon.com/Brush-Bristle.../dp/B07V9FK7CT https://ammonyc.com/products/ammo-mud-tire-gel |

I've had good results P&S Brake Buster. Serves as a tire cleaner and wheel cleaner! Doesn't break the bank either.

Also use Gyeon tire cleaner and Ammo Mud tire gel.
As I've mentioned in another thread, I use this brush applicator and it gives the most even application of the gel. Gets into every nook and cranny and just goes on effortlessly.
