Get proper color match paint. Use something to sand the chip so paint sticks.clean with IPA. Dab paint into chip building higher than it needs to be.might need to do a a few times. Wet sand with 800 and work down to 3000. Hit with compound, then leveling polish.

If they are not that big I wouldn't worry about them. It's going to happen. I've got a few small ones on the front bumper. It's a car and its just the nature of driving, it will happen.

Check out Langka (uses your factory touchup paint) or Dr ColorChip.
There are other resources that give excellent external tutorials (search for; Ammo NYC- paint chip touchup) but if you want a faster means, Langka has been a good option for me. |

For AW...I take a drop of OE paint, let it dry for a minute (not completely) then "sand" it down using Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #7 Show Car Glaze. I used this method on a previous AW car and you couldn't see the fix.
Metallic is difficult b/c the metallic tends to sink and make the spot darker. Though you could try doing it in two steps...fill the chip 3/4 of the way..."sand" down...top coat..."sand" down I really wish BMW didn't stop selling the spray version of the touch-up paints. Though for AW my method is faster and easier. |

I think I like Dr Colorchip better, especially if you have a lot of chips, ie, road rash, with their squeegee application method. I hear a lot of comments how this car is getting more chips than prior cars..Ive also heard that the M2 paint is thinner than most!? Is there anything to that??

i have a paint gauge and the paint on the M2 is about 3.5-4.5 mil. thats about what all cars are today .This includes the primer base coat and clear coat. A human hair is 3-4 mil (.003-.004")thick,paints used to be 7-8 mil . on porsche the PTS colors are 7-8 mil because there painted off line. my GT4 (yellow) is 3.7-5 mil . More important than the the thickness is the elasticity of the paint. The old lacquers were very brittle the solvent based enamels were much softer. now all paints are water based and don't hold up very well. carl

In all honesty i'm driving the M2 harder than I did with my F30. Also I was wondering if the optimised aerodynamics tend to suck up more debris than "normal" cars.

I used Dr Color Chip which is a good match. Didn't like all the chips though so I took it the pros to clean it up and then xpel.
