The Expel website mentions the details of the products which should be used by the installer in preparing the paint. My future installer says he always uses them before wrapping.

I don't know how to proceed.
I'm not an expert but from my understand the PPF is going to basically freeze the look of the paint at the time of the install. I think maybe some minor blemishes may be hidden by the PPF when it goes on but for the most part it's just to look like how does right before they put it on.

So, are you the kind of person who isn't going to notice small imperfections in the paint? Because if you don't notice these small issues, and if you don't see them now, you probably won't notice them after PPF install either. However if you notice small imperfections and you are driven crazy by swirls etc then you should have them corrected before PPF because it's going to drive you crazy that they are locked under the PPF for years to come.

All is not lost though if you install PPF over some issue that could have been paint corrected. You can always paint correct it years later after the PPF comes off if you really want to. It's not like it's ruined, whatever it was before the PPF is preserved.

Full car is 5k in the US. It's worth it to some people like me. I already had some paint chips within 130 miles when I got mine wrapped. If you flip cars often or don't have OCD, I say it's not worth it. Just detail it and accept minor wear and tear.

I'm the sort of person who is terrified of any sort of damage being done to my car. I think € 5000 is well worth it if it'll give me some peace of mind next time I park in a supermarket car park and some very overweight, stressed out woman parks next to it in her rusty, battered Citroen Berlingo and slams the doors open to let out her 6 spotty kids with snot running down their chins, bangs the supermarket trolley against my fender and doesn't give a feck. Ha ha now you'll all have nightmares won't you ?
