M Performance Diffuser

I had a question related to the M peformance diffuser I purchased from the classifieds section in here. I am attaching the pics for reference. Wanted to understand, what is this pink material. As per the advertisement it was brand new and the pics in the advertisement does not match the ones i received at least for the finish on the interior side.
I understand it is the inside of the diffuser and the exterior looks all fine, but was curious about why the inside has such finish. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Is this used or even a brand new one can have such a finish?

Looks like resin residue to me. They only clean and polish and clear coat the outside portion of the diffuser. That is my guess.

If it was used, you should see marks on the screw and snap tab holes. The top tabs that go into the bumper would also be marked.

I would also send the pictures to your seller and see what they say.

Just looked at another thread on the M Performance diffuser where they asked similar questions. http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1485444

Their interior looks similar to your but doesn’t have as much pink material. I don’t remember mine having any.

I had a body shop install mine. PM me if you want details. It was extremely reasonable. It took them under a half hour.

No worries, that's normal. Mine has the same thing but not pink. I think it's the remain of a plastic wrap used between the mold and the diffuser itself. Resin residue makes it hard to remove completely.

Glad that the diffuser work out for you. It does look great with the carbon tips.
