Does something need to be done?

When I got home I noticed something sticking out of my right front tire. It appears to be a small screw. I had a look at it and it doesn't seem like its leaking but it looks bad (see photo). Is there anything I should do or should I just leave it?

I'd pull it out and hope for the best, otherwise, it will probably come out itself or work its way in and leave you stranded at the worst possible time.

Good luck!

Thanks. I did pull it out and hence the little hole. This morning I checked the pressure and it seems ok. The hole seemed to have shrunk as well. Fingers crossed.

Your fine.....just spray some windex on it and see if there are any bubbles.

If you dont have flat tire at this moment, you should be okay.

But keep it mind that the damage can rupture later. I will recommend to patch the damage before it gets serious later.

I checked with a tire shop and he said if it's not leaking then it's good. He also said he would have a hard time patching where the hole is anyways. go figure

Can’t really patch that close to the sidewall. I’ve pulled nails out of my tires before and never had an issue after. Tires, especially performance tires are made real well. Most likely the only problem would be a slow leak might develop. Just check tire pressures often. GL!

If you have a slow leak, the tire will need to be replaced. No shop will patch a hole near or in the sidewall.
