The interior in the ATS-V is a deal breaker for me. The instrument cluster looks just like it came directly out of a 90's Grand Prix parts bin.

Porsche, of note, does not use it and is routinely credited with the best suspension setups in the industry. GM also doesn't use it in the hardcore ZL1 1LE. McLaren does not use this technology either and they are at the forefront of everything else. I would bet that this technology has some disadvantages compared to more conventional / competing systems. If not it would have proliferated through the entire industry like DFI.
I thought Audi uses it and Porsche’s PASM is similar, isn’t it?

Audi might in some models but I know from first-hand experience PASM is not a magnetorheological system. They're all just active dampers. It doesn't matter if it used olive oil as long as it does the job. The electronics and control loop design are probably more critical than the mechanism of adjustment.

Porsche uses magnetic fluid in the engine mounts.

Agreed. It's a shame at that price point.

You might be right, but you would have to analyze the characteristics of the suspension in testing separately to really know if that's the differentiating factor. BMW doesn't have a car in the C7 category anyway.

Not that it matters, but GM certainly does not own Delphi and hasn't technically since 1999. GM spun off Delphi in 1999 and divested the remaining stake they held in it after Chapter 11 reorg in 2011.

Until CUE is done with, the ATS-V is a no go. Seriously it doesn't matter how good that car is, the basic controls you interact with constantly are haptic feedback touch sensors. It is beyond idiotic. I've never noped out of a test drive so fast.

the interior and cue system did not bother me in the ats-v at all. I was also down to ats-v vs m2.. I really, really liked the ats-v, but something still had me yearning for the m2 coupe, and I rented a car / drove 4 hours to buy one without even haven driven one.

I don't think you can go wrong with either car. the only downsides I really felt about the ats-v were the lease deals when it launched totally crippled the initial resale value (600$/mo lease), and they're just about to flood the market with all the 3 year returns.

yes, absolutely, if you time it right you can get a gently used nicely equipped ats-v for 40ish.. hell of a car at that price point.

ATSV sucks cramped mediocre interior for a luxury sedan and boring engine.
If you want GM; Camaro SS 1Le or pre-owned CTSV.

Exactly my thought; used CTSV (or even better, a Chevy SS w/ Holden badging) is what I would rock due to the LSX powerplant.

ATS-V FTW, the CUE system is kool once you learn it, the phone system on it works better and faster than BMWs. I had a 2018 XTS for 2 months, its a hell of a car.

The Exhaust on the ATS V sounds 10000x's times better than the M3's as well. Its a mean car with more room than the M3 and is said to handle much better as well. You would not regret it.

Regardless of what the clown in the 2nd video initially says about his feelings on the interior compared to Euro cars you should see for yourself. I liked the interior a lot. Nothing beats the ATS V performance. Enjoy the vid C63 M3 vs ATS -V

2nd video!!

I must admit that ATS-V looks pretty sharp in blue.
