Question MY 16<->17<->18 difference in how they drive?

I saw this on Instagram:

This post says that there is a difference in the set-up and the way the M2 drives between the different model years (MY16 <-> MY17 <-> MY18). Is he talking about the MY16 vs LCI MY18 or does he mean MY16 vs MY17? I thought the only difference between the models years was purely visual (LCI) or equipment upgrades (Digital cluster,, better HK audio, Apple Carplay, etc)....I was not aware that there is a difference in the way the car (suspension) is set up.
Does MY 16 drive different then MY 17 and does MY 18 also feels different...what was changed

Would be interesting to know whether the tires of the different M2s he drove were the same.

Placebo most likely.. I think any changes would be subtle enough to really need a lot of miles under the driver to notice the difference but colour me interested either way.

When the M2 came out in April 2016, most auto journalists drove pre-production M2s. Example - Motor trend
. It's possible Mr. Catchpole drove one too. It's hard to believe BMW would make subtle changes to the driving dynamics of the car without charging a pretty penny (competition package).

No one posting on this forum is aware of any changes to the way the car drives from MY 16-18, if they were, they would have posted about it by now. The only thing I can think of is a handful of people complained the new iStep software for the changes the transmission behavior and the engine tuning..... but most people don't seem to believe. No Dyno numbers have confirmed anything like that. Even if true you could update a MY16 to the latest software anyway.

I see the "M2 Comp is the way the car should have been" is starting to pick up steam though before anyone has tried it.

Maybe just some cramps in the fingers because the iDrive wheel direction has been inverted + blinkers stalk now stays up/down when operated ?
