Correct diverter valve part number

Hey guys..
What is the correct part number for the stock diverter valve on a non lci M2? I looked it up and get 11657601058 on real OEM.
However, mine looks exactly like 11657609210, which is the valve for the n20. The piston looks very slightly different but the plug on my car looks exactly like the n20 diverter valve.

The reason I ask is I wanted to get the N55 gfb DV+ which I ordered from a reputable dealer, and was sent a part that didn't fit. May have biffed the plastic ring inside the diverter valve body itself trying to fit the part and so might just put on a replacement.

Any idea what the correct dv+ part number is? Should an N20 version be ordered, or is pure turbos the only place that has the right one for the M2, since they specifically let you select M2 when putting it in your cart?

Got it, but what does changing it actually do/help with?

Better throttle response apparently. Comes with a spring that allows it to alleviate varying levels of pressure instead of just binary action of being open or closed like the stock one. Also the way it is constructed gets rid of the diaphragm in the stock unit that can fail.

OP, my suggestion for you is to just like me install DV+ not use mainspring.

All BMW turbocharged engines do a pretty good job with on/off throttle response. What spring does to BMW is mainly to hold boost during shift for 8at and MT cars. Reading log you'll see how well DCT manage boost in shifts, only thing concerning you will be too much boost in shifts, which is a tuner's job to fix.

There're two main downside using spring.
1) Firstly it introduces noise, the air go thu half open valve and makes whistle, can't say for sure how significant that would be. Some live with it the others cannot.
2) And it puts stress on compressor wheel, this is how - when pedal lifted, throttle plate fully or partially closes, back pressuring the compressor. Factory wants a fully open DV to release the stress. Instead, a DV+ will be partially open, releasing only what mainspring allows for. More or less that's some stress on compressor every time you lift pedal. Think about most of times you don't even intend to push the car.

DV+ replace plastic plate with metal one so you have the peace of mind when boosting high. Keep in mind M2 N55 has the N20 version DV from factory which is designed to hold 18-20psi nominal. Upgrading to DV+ is not a requirement unless you go beyond that boost.

Anyway if you swap turbo, it's just a bolt on affair that costs you 150usd in part, do it for complete safety.

Thanks for the good info! I was on the fence about using the main spring but think I will go without. I don't want to have to deal with CEL either

I apologize for reviving an old thread, but I am replacing the diverter valve on an X4 N55 and my part number at realoem, the dealer, and all online catalogs shows that I should have part number 11657601058. However, I just removed what was on the vehicle and it was part number 11657609210. These two parts have completely different connectors, so I'm curious how you addressed that when you made your change. Did you go with a new diverter valve with the same connector as 11657609210 or did you need to change connectors to upgrade? Thanks in advance!
