Something about a carbon wrap that screams tacky to me. Either get real carbon fiber, or leave it as is. This isn't a Civic.

I had a company wrap my old f30 in the same way and they didn't want to do the fin originally because it was too much work for them and they just ended up doing a hack job on it. I could see a few seams on the fin itself. I got a different company to do it this time and he did a great job. No complaints about the difficulty. There's only 1 seam that I could see which is on the back of the fin. I'll take some pics and post it |

I don't think anyone is posing and would lie and tell someone it's real carbon. I'm sure most everyone would pay for an OEM CF roof if they offered it. Having the RKP one installed comes with some install risks and isn't cheap to buy and install. I think people who wrap the roof with carbon just want to go with whatever looks best.

Do you really want to have the conversation 100 times regarding the roof? "Nice M2.. Was CF was an option for the roof that year.. ?" |

Yeah, I fail to see the appeal of putting fake CF on your car.
Pretty much the same as putting a fake M badge on a car. It is meant to give the impression that you have something that you don't actually have. But to each his own.

Not really, but my main concern would be does the CF wrap actually look better to me than black?

To me it would only be odd on an M3/M4 where the car could be ordered with a FACTORY INSTALLED CF roof, or if you were looking used you could have found one with a FACTORY INSTALLED CF roof easily (wtf bwm).

So you're fine with it not being actual Carbon Fiber since it didn't come that way from the factory?

I don't assume the person was trying to trick me into thinking it's a CF roof on a car that couldn't be bought a CF roof. So yea I wouldn't judge them. Would I wrap it in CF? That depends, does it look like CF or does it look like a wrap? If it looked nice then I would consider it over black wrap yes.

CF wrapped roof
I had my roof wrapped in CF and it turned out awesome. I have had numerous people ask me how much it cost for a CF roof and they have no idea until I tell them it is wrapped. The shark fin was wrapped at the same time. Just to protect against rocks I also had the roof wrapped in clear PPF since the CF wrap isn't very thick and will chip. I will try and post a few pictures later this week.
