Yeah, I thought that was weird this morning... I turned off traction all the way while in Comfort mode. The cooling actually kicked in and lowered the temperature like it does in Sport.

So I think the best you can do is Comfort with MDM, if you want to warm it up.

That's great news! More fun sound and faster shifts on the DCT! But it should be noted that the transmission obviously will still be cold when the car has just been started so I probably shouldn't get too crazy in Traction mode.

I've seen 'OK' msg and pointer still all way the to the left indicating coolant in range and oil temp isn't.

I wouldn't start "booting it" until oil temp is above coolant temp so as oil is lubricating and the coolant is primary for regulating the engine temperature.

I know air to oil heat exchanger is located on RHS front but whereabouts is water to oil heat exchanger on the M2 ?

BP
Sorry didn't see this msg. According to my logs, cold/OK is indeed coolant temp / oil temp mixture. If Coolant temp is not above 61C, or oil temp is not above 50C it will not read OK.

As for the water to oil heat exchanger, here ya go.

After noticing that the car runs cooler in the sport modes I have made it a habit of always being in a sport mode before parking the car so the oil temp is lower. Anyone else do this intentionally? I’ve had other turbo cars that you could hear a recirculating motor after you shut the engine off to cool it down. I haven’t heard one on the M2.

Yes, I also do that sometimes. I usually wait until the gauge reads just below the first big notch (LCI). That's around where it stays when idle, so I figure that's good enough.

I generally do this after a hard run.

Do note that the car does target the more aggressive cooling mode if IAT/ambient temps are over somewhere around 90F, or getting onto the throttle ( 75+ / WOT )
