Good luck getting a Porsche GT car allocation unless you have a purchase history at a Porsche dealer. GT4 is out of production. Used Porsche GT cars such as a GT4 or especially GT3, GT4 RS, etc., are priced high. I was once naive like you. A 911 Carrera S or 911 GTS is a more realistic goal.

Don’t know how I’d like it compared to the OG m2 I have now.

Seems like a Porsche is the next car ALot of M2 owners go on to but I don’t know how well OP would get on Dailying one.

I’m waiting for the GT4 price to bottom out then move into one
Again GT4 is out of production. Cayman is supposed to go 100 percent electric in 2025, so GT4 will hold it’s value extremely well.

They are truly special cars when right, and I still to this day have not seen another one on the road (although I have seen a few Stelvio QVs). Several people where I live had no idea what it was, and the few who did loved to strike up a conversation.

QVs are absolutely let down by AR service departments, which are few and far between and are generally regarded as below average. I do not believe in calling all Alfas or QVs unreliable which seems to be the usual go-to. Several forum members have had trouble-free ownership experiences while many others have not. It appears to be extremely hit or miss. Unfortunately, I fell into the latter camp. My car visited the dealer 5 times within the first 12 months, and that includes a spell where they kept the vehicle for 6 weeks due to a repeating electrical issue that would lock the car in limp mode. The dealership was ultimately unable to solve the problem, and a few local indy shops refused to look at the car just because it was an Alfa. I decided to cut my losses and moved on from it shortly afterwards.

QVs depreciate like a rock which makes used examples look fairly tempting. This is not novel advice, but if you did move on to a QV, I would be absolutely terrified owning one out of warranty. Just my opinion and experience having owned both cars.

I have zero regrets moving to the OG M2, and due to its lower but more usable power and smaller dimensions (combined with the 6MT for mine), I actually have more fun driving it around town. YMMV
Same QV experience. Amazing car. More balanced and special than any of the 12 M cars I owned. But after weeks at the dealer, I drove down the street and bought another M2. While the M2 is not in the same league of driving dynamics and was a let down vs. the QV, I knew it would start up everytime I needed it to.

Bottom line, all my cars need to be worthy of 25-minute lapping sessions at decent pace (with minimal modification).
I owned a ITS briefly, and regret selling it. You will NOT be disappointed by the CTR. For the money, I can't think of a car that is more fun to drive and handles better. As for the RS3, I'm paying well below MSRP and even then, it has me thinking of another ITS/CTR just because of how fun they are. The RS3 keeps getting pushed back, now early May, so who knows what I end up with.

Problem from my viewpoint is the 53 designation. In my book it’s like M sport versus full M. For me it has to start with a 6 and have the one man, one motor.

Thanks for sharing this. I might well buy an FL5 CTR, but in addition to my M2C, or maybe I’ll be sufficiently satisfied with an FL5 on the street that I’d swap my M2C for an E46 or E92 track build with MCS remote dampers, half cage, etc. I’ll always need RWD in my life, but even still, I am really eager to experience the pinnacle of FWD on track.

If I were in your situation, I would look into getting an M2C or an M2 CS. A CS can be tough for 70k, but a low mileage M2C is definitely doable. S55 provides a whole different level of experience compared to the N55 in my opinion. It just feels sharper and more "awake." That combined with the revised styling, Drivelogic, and M seats make for a great upgrade over the OG, and they're also the reason why I chose a Comp over an OG.

A couple others have mentioned the Emira, but you would have to be willing to deal with its British quirks and having only two seats.

If I don't end up with the RS3 (I've decided against trading the M2C on it, I like it too much), I'll get a CTR/ITS as a daily. If finances and space allow, I suggest holding onto the F87.
