481 wtq 383whp (91 octane, stock turbo) N55 496wtq 442whp (half tank of ethanol, stock turbo) Stage 2 S55 on pump gas (no other mods) 500wtq 480whp. Ethanol + tune 550whp 570wtq The crack hub happens to DCT cars a lot even stock. With a stage 2 tune you're looking at 500wtq 480whp. That makes sense seeing how it happens to stock cars. With ethanol it would be around 550whp off of a tune & fuel alone. The 2-3k on the crack hub covers the cost I spent on a stage 2 HPFP and an intercooler/chargepipe combo so it's a worth it trade off for me + 100whp extra & 50-70wtq more than I achieved off my best tune. I've had the OG myself for five years, put 50k miles on it and I still love and enjoy it every second I'm behind the wheel but that doesn't mean my car is automatically the greatest car in existence or I can't be objective when reviewing other cars. These are just my opinions and we're all entitled to value what we want more or less than others

If I want it to yank a bit harder, I can go grab a tank of 110… or start hunting for a manual M2C but after my first track weekend I can honestly say my lap times need more driver experience not more whp. I’m 10+ seconds off an instructor with a stock 2016 on slicks Last edited by Wolfman’s Brother; 12-09-2021 at 10:40 AM.. |

I know people love the LCI for some reason, but I have one and really don't see it worth any premium over the older version. I honestly prefer the old gauges, these new ones are just hidden behind black plastic and give me Lexus vibes. I think the pre-LCI are amber, which is "more BMW". And better for your night vision (why the color was chosen in the first place).
There is a hesitation after full throttle upshift of about half a sec where the engine won't give you full boost. It's not turbo lag, it's a safety net to protect the gearbox I think (3 pedal cars only). You can see it on data at the track very clearly. Super frustrating when you're actually doing some timed competition. Not all years have this. I think only some LCI. No pre-LCI as far as I can tell. The tech stuff might be worthwhile for some. But I don't use car-play since it never seems to respond as quickly or as well as my phone does. Waze on CarPlay doesn't even call out police or speed cameras unless you are actively navigating. Maybe I'm just a weirdo. I don't really need tech in my car, I'm busy driving. Same with the Exec package. Just kind of a waste of money. And the moving headlights just add weight and complexity with marginal improvements. I only got the LCI because I wanted some warranty left. Definitely don't be afraid of the older car. Maybe prefer the older car. Or the Comp, since the engine is good above 5k rpm. |

Don't waste your time on an m2 . The M2C is much faster and better in every way.
Do not listen to the guys " who drove them back to back" and still chose the n55 …it's BS ….these guys have never even taken traction control off fully to even know what these cars have. In the future the M2C will go up in value not the forgotten n55 M2 lol . |

Will they gain it back in 20-25 years? Sure maybe, but it's a sad ownership experience if that's what you're thinking about all the way there. Pathetic.

Definitely. None of them will be memorable in 20 years and neither is the final word in driving dynamics so best to just enjoy what you've got and make sure to drive it. I guess if whatever 2 series you have is the most capable car you've owned a person might think much more about these cars in terms of being special or great but it just is not the case.

wont' be memorable in 20 years... so what will be memorable lol?
911 GT3RS? I got bad news for you if that's what you think... because in that class, those cars will cost 500K lol when everything goes electric... which means no one here will own one.

Long term, it may indeed drive F87 prices up, just because our cars will be preferred from a styling standpoint while being lighter and more "pure." It'll take at least 10 years for that to happen though. |

With that being said, one would definitely expect the G80 M3 to put downward pressure on the F80s, the exact reverse has happened... and it absolutely is not all Covid related. We forget there have also been price increases year over year that have been higher than ever and the F80s can no longer be discounted as they aren't new.

Not so sure about that. Plenty of people aren't gonna care for the F87. Bigger, heavier, uglier (to some, totally subjective). And...
Allegedly it will have the new-style all-screen instrument panel, just like seen here in the i4 M50. I think this will turn a LOT of people off. Fast forward to about 7:50 for a look. YUCK. Why on earth did they just slap a sharp-cornered rectangular giant screen like that, rather than making SOME attempt to integrate it into the styling of the dash? Looks like something someone did in their garage.

More money, more girth, ugly. Agree to disagree. We'll see how it plays out. I may well be in the minority.

Something different. A lighter car with good steering for example. Not electric steering in a turbocharged 2 series. There are a number of cars that will be memorable and they don't have to be extremely expensive but offering a genuinely connected driving experience will definitely help.
