Exactly. At the current pace there will be less than around 7500 sold across the entire US run, certainly under 10,000 including all versions
Solely, for purposes of comparison... the US only got 740 1M's.

You are correct.

Mike Fux owns that one-off M2.

I definitely give credit to those who own a black car and keep it pristine clean. I couldn't do it, would drive me crazy. My buddy has an E30 M3 in silver and I just saw a mint EVO version in black. Must say it looked real nice, but I would still go silver. Many think it's dull, but to me it looks classy. DB5 in silver anyone? I digress...even a 550 Maranello in silver looks better than it does in red or black. All personal of course.

Looking forward to seeing the new Hockenheim(lich) silver on the CS and hopefully on the CSL with Motosport stripes and side BMW badges like old school with a modern flare just like the French dude rendered. They should hire him!
Not off topic by any means.

Happy that US and Canada are keeping the percentages high enough that we should continue to get the MT option
Yes I fully agree with you. Hardly anyone take MT here in France for the reasons you state.

I don't want one. 90% of the European Audi owners would be scrambling to tailgate me and show me what their particular piece of crap can do.

Also I don't think you quite understood the meaning of "any idiot can.."
I'm a grandmother and I can drive a manual perfectly well. I'm also an idiot !

MT is not available here in Chinese market. Not sure where is that 0.1% coming from... maybe factory demo/test car?

It's simple - No one takes MT in France or the rest of Europe because of the extra tax you have to pay at the time of registration. DCT is rated less Co2/KM so less penalty.
Exactly why I don't have a MT M3 but a DCT one

It's a pre-production vehicle. If it was sold or destroyed, I have no way of knowing.

The M2 of Mr. Fux that got the 'BMW Individual' treatment (over $114K): see here and here.

I wonder how much BMW will want if someone tried to special order an M2 in Estoril Blue.It is a standard color for the M240i so BMW could just paint an M2 in EB when they are painting a bunch of 2 series cars in that color. They wouldn't have to ship the car to another plant to be painted, like they did with that Austin Yellow M2.

That is also true, however I believe the extra cost of the DCT version is considerably more than the extra tax... although I do believe I heard that any CO2 emissions of 199 and above are susceptible to an annual € 200 tax in addition. Where are you living in France The English Guy ? I'm near Annecy 74.

And then you would have a wrapped M2, of questionable value, and which you'd have to take off at some point anyway (there goes $2-3k down the drain), instead of a one-off M2 that absolutely no one else on the planet has.

Fux paints his cars in very "interesting" shades, so this AY M2 is in remarkable good taste.

I'm surprised that buyers of €80-100k performance cars care about that extra tax. I personally wouldn't, because to my eyes cars that cost this much and more are personal indulgences, in which case I will get exactly what I like/want.
