That's terrible! I am sorry to see this happened to you.

Looking ahead try making it a habit of reversing into your parking spots. Parking low sports cars straight in can be a recipe for head aches. Backing in helps avoid some of these since the rear is higher up and clears most of those parking stops and curbs.

Backing in is much more dangerous and more likely to create property damage than pulling in front first and backing out. But don't take my word for it.

With a rear view camera, added height and parking sensors for distance control seems like backing in is the safer route. Curious as to why you think nose first is safer. Happy to be wrong and adopt new methodology.

Go sit on the same parking block and snag your leg on that same rebar. They'll pay for sure then.

Sorry to see that @jetdoug - especially as a fellow MG driver!

But after giving my M2 a long hand wash today, and seeing all the little imperfections I've picked up already, we gotta keep the big picture in mind -- and you can't see your new one from the inside. Just try to keep enjoying the ride

This really sucks, sorry it happened. I have had a couple of scrapes on the underside but nothing visible yet. I have been really careful in parking and trying to avoid parking blocks and curbs as much as possible. Mine have happened backing out of the driveway a little too fast and having the front scrape.

Are you going to have it fixed?

That sucks, sorry to see that. These front end are really low. I almost hit a front curb parking myself, I got out and looked and noticed how low the car is. I tend to back in now.

Thanks for the sympathy- I'm fairly certain my car is cursed...

1)exactly 10 minutes after Euro delivery- driving down the Autobahn in absolute bliss- a rock chips my windshield directly in my line of sight.
2)day 2 of Euro delivery I stayed at a little country inn in the middle of nowhere-parked under a chestnut tree and awoke to 3 dimples in my roof/trunk.
3)re-delivery at the PC yielded rear bumper damage from being impacted by a US license plate, must have happened between the port and the PC.

To BMWs credit they repaired all of the above, completely replacing my windshield. Maybe all the bad too juju is over....I hope!

I am not sure you do easily.....it is plastic. I ran mine up on a cattle stop the 1st month I had it right after I installed the springs. Forgot I didn't have front sensors. I was going to try and paint pen touch it but I had PPF over the front and it would have made it look shittier than it already was so i left it.

This is why I only back into parking spaces. PDC/rear view cam will help you avoid any mishaps. Plus the rear bumper sits much higher up than the front. #lessonlearned

also it is safer to back into spots that way you can front out into moving traffic much easier, i really dont get why people like to front in to a spot and then back into moving parking lot traffic!!
