So was it in German or English? I mean why would a German company write in English like above?

The user M-power, which is creating all this rumours in a german 2 series forum is trolling everyone like hell.
There was not any communication from bmw regarding de M2. The alleged picture about the new model was never published in the forum. He published directly an image with "error 404". But people apparently are easily manipulated around things they would like to happen, so you have a horde of guys supporting what he says. Moreover he has a couple other "users" that he uses to support his own points of view. |

EDIT (Jan 20, 2017): From hindsight, BMW indeed released 'new' info regarding the M2 on Jan 17: the M2 price-list "March 2017" ("Ausgabe 2, 17.01.2017"): see here (32 pages - 5.7 MB).

The discussion overthere is now about Euro Norm 6C(M2 N55 has just Euro6) which could mean EOP N55 M2 late summer this year?
But.... I do believe a CS with S55 is coming(SOP) 3-2018. Which means I believe M-Powwer overthere. I'm on the list. Cheers Robin |

A guy on 2er German forum just posted a German 2017 BMW M2 Pricelist that is gonna be valid from 03/2017 there with a 800 EUR price increase. Seems that no changes are coming at all for now.

Definitely don't expect any changes for MY2017, not even a price increase. MY2018 will be a different story though. We'll probably see a $500 increase in base price (I believe rear view camera will have to be standard in USA).

So, now that the M4 and M3 LCI are out with no extra power, I'd just like to point out that the probability of an M2 LCI with a new, more powerful engine is much less likely than it was when I said it was incredibly unlikely.
Given that there are test mules and new chassis of every single model except the RWD 1 and 2 series, if you can't see the writing on the wall, good luck to you. The CS/CSL is almost certain to be a limited edition special model that will almost certainly be instantly sold out. I believe it will also be the swan song of the RWD 2 series. I do really hope I'm wrong. Now that I've stated my opinion, BMW are sure to do the opposite. Y'all are welcome. |

Status quo would not be the end of the world. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the M2 right now - as many many reviewers have stated (and I agree). If you want more power for stoplight racing - tune it or buy an M4. If you want a nicer interior like the TTRS - buy the TTRS. If you want it to be more like a GT3 - buy a GT3. If you want all those things at the same price as the M2, I would be curious to know what colour the sky is in your world. |

On or around 1/17/17, someone posted that the M2 CS will start production in March 2018. Can someone confirm this?
Thinking of getting a MY18 and then trading it in for the M2 CS. |

That's a good move, get your M2 then sell for M2 CS. Normally this would be a poor financial choice but with used M2s selling for near MSRP - you're likely only going to lose a few thousand total on the whole venture - totally worth driving around a M2 for a year while you wait for the CS.

I really wish my wife had bigger breasts. Apparently BMW will release an M2 DD next year....
Unfortunately no matter how much I want it to be true I can't will it into existence. We'd be better practicing the art of acceptance.... my vote is the M2 will keep the N55 till end of production in 2020. We may get minor cosmetic updates inline with the 2 series. M2 CS is likely to be a run out special edition with a special price available to a lucky few. |

I hear that they are going to put a CO2 tax on bicycles next year. After all, people who ride them breathe faster and transform oxygen into carbon dioxide so it has to be taxed. The tax might be extended to joggers too.
