So if someone switched tyres from contis to michelin after delivery, will the engine become a closed deck ??

That's easy. Based on whether or not you switch the front or back tires, the first 3 or last 3 cylinders become closed.

The tricky part is if you switch the left side tires or right side tires.

Even the proctologist would have difficulty figuring it out.

I also heard a BMW engineer say that, the engine becomes closed deck when you go into sport+ mode.

DSC OFF = Deck Shield Cover OFF = open deck.
