Smart Oil Temp/Pressure Gauge

Hey Guys! I've had my AW DCT M2 for a few weeks now and I'm loving every minute of it It does bother me that there is no oil temp gauge though. I've been looking online/on forums and really only see stuff that requires displays be put into the dash somewhere with wiring and all that.

My friends and I are pretty techy and good with cars. Do any of you know if there is a Smart Oil temp gauge that displays temps on any internet connected device (phone, comp, laptop)? If we built one, would people be interested in trying it out?

AFAIK we have two options that don't require wiring of any kind:
1. You can buy M Performance wheel with race display
2. You can buy M Performance monitor that you insert into OBD and get the values on iOS/Android via bluetooth

How would you do it, the car would feed the information via its WiFi?

So ridiculous - was just in a 328i and there's oil temp right there on the dash. Nothing for the M car...?

I believe you can use a OBD wifi/Bluetooth dongle and your favourite smart phone app. However BMW/MINI does not provide high speed CAN over OBD hence something like the Awron or P3gauges.

Just get the P3 vent gauge. Simple and easy. I don't need more junk to distract me on a phone. I have not given a rats ass about oil pressure in 20 years. By the time you notice low oil pressure the motor is done anyways. The low oil pressure light in cluster is good enough for street use.
