Wow, everyone will have a view on these two great cars but they are quite different tools and you can't really compare them so easily to say one is just better than the other. It comes down to personal preference. I have an m2 and my son has an mk3 RS. I would happily have both cars if I could afford them. The RS is one hell of a B Road beast and sounds great with its rally like exhaust character. However I love the M2 for so many other uses and overall just prefer the features of a rear wheel drive fast and we'll balanced car. Each to their own.

The RS is, in my opinion, extremely easy to go very fast in but it cannot change the laws of physics... |

1) M2 vs. ugly ass hatch (5 doors). The Focus RS is hideous. Any MB 5 door is gross. 2) M2 vs. any two-seater like Cayman, CS, CGTS. Why? Cayman's are way more money and you can't pick up your kid and a friend from school in it. EVER! |

I finally picked up my M2 since I first started this thread, I had my M2 picked up at the dealer 10/14, my friend's RS arrived 5 days before mine.
I have driven both not pushing 100% as both cars are still on break in period. The M2 is a refined machine, has a lot of presence and is a lot more beautiful than the RS, it's just a nicer place to be seated on. It's fast, fun, lots of grip and surprisingly, you can go 40 miles an hour and the car feels fast. the RS on the other hand, is a completely different machine, it is certainly more tight on the corners, the torque is amazing, probably more so (to an extent) than the M2, it is definitively more kart feeling than the M2, but I would not want to be in the RS more than an hour, I can see how this car can get fatiguing, mostly because of the suspension, very jumpy, even compared to my WRX with Tein coilovers on the stiffest settings. If you ask me, I just don't think one is better than the other, just different machines, one is a bargain for the money, the other one is just quite beautiful bavarian muscle. I'd keep both if you ask me! See below attached pictures |

I have not read the other posts but I have one comment. I am 6', 195 - the seat in the M2 is one of the most comfortable I have ever been in - this is electric not manual. the RS has the most UNCOMFORTABLE seat I have ever been in. its very narrow and has little or none back support. My kart seat is better than it and my kart seat sucks. As a data point I just came out of a 2014 S5, my 3rd one. The M2 is MUCH better than that seat as well. Specs are only so good. Just my .02

LBB does look great in real life but so does NB, it has an awesome gold flake in it when it's in bright sunlight. It fits the crazy rally hatch shape really well.

I agree, those are way too narrow for most people. In other markets the shell seats are awaliable and they are mich more comfortable but lack height adjustment... The M2 has a superior seating position IMO, regardless of the seat option in the RS. |

Odd to hear someone say this. When i was shopping for a new car, I wanted a coupe and only looked at coupes. To me, no reason to want a 4 door if i don't need the space and if the M2 would of been only a sedan, i would of never bought it no matter how fun it is.
