Audi TT-S starts at $51,900 in the U.S.. About $58,000 fully loaded.

And the way the premiums for RS go RS3 will be 5k bump from fully loaded S3, TTRS $7500-10k vs TTS. So figure $67,500 as a pretty safe bet. Only other RS we have now RS7 is $15k more than loaded S7.

You can't really just take a price in other countries and just convert it. So many other factors at play.

Right, that's why I said I don't know what that would translate to in US or CAD.

Around $67,500 would be nice for the TTRS. Probably will just have a few options to add to that price anyway. Coincidentally, that is about starting price for the 718 Cayman S, but obviously the Audi will come with a lot more standard. And although I love my RWD cars, I wouldn't mind having quattro for the east coast weather as well as some great launches. I have a deposit for the M2 right now, but still excited to see how the RS3 and TTRS turn out as my other options.

I really am liking the TT-S and wonder if TT-RS is even necessary. Sounds pretty decent from vids ive seen for a 4 cylinder. After having a M4, I sometimes wonder how much power and rawness is required for a non track car person like myself.

Once you listen to the 5cyl engine with sports exhaust you will have your answer. It's a BEAUTIFUL sound... much better than M2 in my opinion.

Am looking forward to this car! Was planning on moving to a Porsche Boxster or Cayman S but not a fan of the flat 4... However in Australia... Old ttrs plus started at 140k... It's a hell of a price tag considering m3 can be had for less, but it's completely different cars. Boxster s and Cayman s is north of 150k with a few options... So will have to drive it to see if it's worth it

Yeah I've got a deposit down on an RS3. TTRS is just too much for something that can't really be my only car.

Drove TTS honestly I'd say you could be fine w that. RS is a bit of overkill for US roads. But that said it will be a monster.

I'm with you there.. I don't have kids yet or anything, but the extra utility of the RS3 would make more sense for me as well.

Plus, I actually think it looks better than the TTRS. The front of the TTRS is really, really good, but I can never get into the rest of its looks. And I am more of a sport car/coupe fan compared to sedans..

But I am not ruling out the TTRS though..

Yeah the way I compare the two at least based on my pricing assumptions (well informed assumptions) is 20% more $ for TT, 5-10% more fun and 50% less usable.

Ha, I like that! BTW, the RS3 coming to the U.S. is getting the same engine as the TTRS, correct?

As far as I know correct. TTRS will be here April RS3 August 2017. I'm planning to drive S3, TTS the RS3 the same day ASAP. Drove the EU RS3 a while back. Then make a call next April if wait for RS3 or stay BMW.

Has anyone posted this video yet? Sounds awesome!! Still not crazy on the exterior but the interior is nice... as long as you only seat stuffed toys in the back.

Car is nice but for many people its a love/hate thing.

I actually tested a TTS while waiting for an M2 allocation. Since no dealer would ensure I would get one I was still looking for other cars in case I didn't land the M2.

I liked the TTS a lot but it would have felt so much better with at least 50 more hp.. As soon as I talked to the dealer about modding they said it would void all warranty..

Considered waiting for the TTRS but nobody could give me a solid Release date or price, just an estimated 75K and no Manual Shifter..

Glad the M2 did land..

The TTRS looks amazing. And I love Audi interiors. It'll be a fantastic car when it hits the shores.

That said, I'm a huge fan of RWD and I don't know that the RS will be quite as playful as the M2, even if it's objectively more capable.

Also, I have kids and the M2 has a reasonable back seat. Made the M2 palatable to my awesome wife. : )

TT is one of few cars that I think should be longer.

It has the beautiful front end and a rear that looks like cut by someone from above in a 60 degree angle.

I think so too... Did you see the 4dr concept? that was sweet.. I'd have bought that in a heartbeat, but looks like it won't be produced. I like the TT, and the front looks great, but its like they kept the old back end and put on a fresh face. Just can't warm to it overall.

I really like the look of the TT-RS - better than the RS3 in the looks department.

And that 5 cylinder....

If I had my perfect car, the M2 would have that engine - dropping another 100lb no doubt... that and the virtual cockpit
