If it looks like the most recent prototype (which I don't think it will), upper $50's.

If it gets a CF roof, better seats, other standard M-car features, etc., low $60s. It won't cost more than the M3/4. This isn't a GTS or CSL.

Look again at the exhaust tips.

I'm beginning to think it may start at a price point either slightly less, or right where the limited edition version started.

I thought the standard M2 had identical brakes to the F8X. As it damn well should as it weighs the same amount!

So this is supposed to have larger brakes? Which would then be bespoke?

Not sure if this has been said before, the wheels of the CS prototype look like they are the standard M641 wheels that BMW sells as winter wheels for the F8x and the tyres by profile look the same as Conti WinterContact.

And today an M2 test mule 'turned a bit wide' during a test session at the Nürburgring...

My thinking exactly unless they add (or remove ) a lot more between now and 2018.

I am not sure how many test cars BMW has for the M2 CS. The wheels and the brakes on this look like the standard ones on the M2 and the M3/M4s.

They're not the 19" wheels and the brakes are not the same as we saw during the winter testing either. Why are they retrograding.

Jason, a couple of brief videos of late March 2017 Nürburgring M2 and M2 CS test sessions:
  • March 28, 2017 (Nürburgring - Germany): here (00:18) (S55 engine)
  • March 29, 2017 (Nürburgring - Germany): here (00:13) (N55 engine)
  • March 30, 2017 (Nürburgring - Germany): here (00:16) (S55 engine)
  • March 30, 2017 (Nürburgring - Germany): here (00:10) (turning wide)
Added to the first post of the M2 and M2 CS test mule videos thread.

No way that's what the rear of the car is going to look like.. If it looks like a civic M2 the car is going to be somewhat underwhelming imo. Which I don't think is going to happen, they will probably add some flare here and there and carbon fiber this and that. I don't think this is anywhere close to the finished product.

I as well thought the rotors on this one did not seem as large. The larger calipers look like unpainted CC calipers that I have seen on an M6 (gold when painted). I could be wrong.

To all those expressing the fear that these prototypes show the final M2 CS version: judging by the exhaust sounds of the videos that surfaced this week, you can hear that also at least one of the spotted M2 test mules still features the N55 engine + compare also the 1M test mules pictured below with the production 1M:

I totally agree.

The standard M2's exhaust looks much much better than these.

Flare here and there and carbon fibre this and that is exactly what the rear of a civic is like

Has anyone else noticed the nose now takes the shape of the g20 ?
