I told them that was fine, I could not make those numbers work, and I had to go pick up the M235. Fast forward 2 hours and they sold me the M2 for $48600. This supposedly included $1500 discount for being an employee of a large insurance company.
That's nuts. I wonder if there is a lull in sales right now as people are waiting for the MY18 when it's so close.

I didn't think the BMWCCA rebate applied to the M2?

I paid around MSRP, and I got all the performance pieces including exhaust and coilovers
Think the only one missing is the alcantara trim on the dash and CF on the DCT lever ... but I could care less

The advisor mentioned I stopped in at the right time of the month.

The crazy thing is, I would have never gotten the deal had I gone there to buy the car. I probably would have paid msrp or close to it.

I kept trying to leave to go to the other dealer to buy the 235. I never intended this as a strategy but they had no leverage.

Great deal, but why didn't the dealer have leverage? Why would they want to sell you an M2 so quickly with a $4900 discount?I assume the $1500 discount is for the business fleet credit.

The BMWCCA rebate seems to apply to the M2 - but it is not available in conjunction with the USAA and Corporate Fleet Programs.

If you wanted to pay 48k for a used one it might be tough!

I would just guess that they don't sell a lot of expensive sporty cars where he is and it's been sitting there for a bit with not a lot of interest and MY18 is coming up and that will make it even harder for them to move it. But I don't know shit about sales so I am probably wrong.

If you aren't currently a BMW CCA member, you might want to consider joining.
The Roundel magazine and various discounts alone are worth the membership fee (see Benefits).
https://myaccount.bmwcca.org/PortalT...EmailCheck.cfm
If you've been a continuous member for at least one full year at time of delivery, there's a $500 discount on an M2.

I was willing to walk and had another car in my pocket. They kept lowering the price after I told them I had nothing else to offer.

Not sure if this is the same thing but there is a BMW Group Corporate Sales Program which offers a discount on lease rates or on purchase price. Current offer is $2,500 off any 2 series including M cars.

Suppliers and other BMW partners have this option.

Disclaimer:
•May be combined with most retail incentive programs at time of purchase
•If you lease your vehicle through BMW or MINI Financial Services, ask for applicable Rate Reduction
•May be shared with immediate family members
•BMW Company Vehicles, Extended Test Drive, Shuttle/Limo, Retired Service Loaner Vehicles and Pre-Owned vehicles are not eligible.

The Corporate Sales Incentive cannot be used in conjunction with the BMW Ultimate Drive Event, BMW Car Club, BMW College Program, BMW Group Partner & Family Program, BMW CCA program, European Delivery Program, Diplomatic Program, USAA and/or Military Sales Program, BMW Limousine & Hotel Shuttle Program, BMW VIP Purchase Program and previously reported vehicles with 300+ miles.
