SO i pre ordered and put a deposit on the M2 Performance edition MSRP about 62.5K Manual, Supposed to be here mid april but im having second thoughts due to me paying more and getting less? If that makes sense. So i've been up and down youtube and forums just reading up on the M2's performance handling and its obviously amazing but my question to you guys is, Would you purchase a C43 AMG over a M2 PE? Thoughts on the M2 PE and your personal experiences with the C43 AMG.

(I do love the interior and back end of the AMG way more then the M2) Haven't test drove one yet.
I test drove the C43 AMG Saloon as it was high on my list before settling for the M2. The Merc is big and its heavy, but not exciting to drive in my opinion.

I came from an Audi S5 and the C43 AMG in my eyes is aimed at an older generation than myself. I don't like the interior styling which strikes me as slightly over the top and "Showy" - maybe just me.

The best bit of the C43 is the backside of it, which does look good - shame the rest is meh.....

I saw a new 63S coupe today, it looks great now that it gets wider rear fenders to match the fronts. The C43 does not have the hunkered down look.

Where are you getting that from? Similar size/weight/power. They're right on top of one another.

Pass on the PE and find an available allocation for a regular M2. I know of at least 2 dealerships that have PE M2s sitting on their lots, that are up for grabs.

But the thing is, performance wise, they are in the same class.

440 performance doesn't stack up with the c43.

I really think Mercedes made a killer of a car in a segment that didn't exist with the c43.

If BmW made a m440, and priced it in the 60k range, I might've been driving that.
If you buy a 440i and put on the M Sport package, the PPK, the M brakes, the M chassis and the performance exhaust you will have a 360 hp coupe/gran coupe that will probably drive better than the C43. The C43 has a few extra (6?) ponies but it's close. Very close.

You even get plenty of M badges with the M sport things. Just not on the back of the car.

Oh, and the segment did exist. Ever heard of the Audi S4/S5? Or the slightly obscure (outside Sweden) Volvo S60 Polestar with 350 hp (http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/def...?itok=dXcPO8k_). I'm sure there are other examples as well.

Exactly, everyone are raving about the Merc C-class interior but to me it just doesn't look "serious" enough. It's too glossy and over the top. Feels "fake" almost.

I have an M2 but have owned AMG's

I just bought my M2 on 3/25 due to another customer backing out. Had that not occurred, I would have gotten into a 43 car. Probably the GLC43 Coupe'. I've owned C32 & S55 AMG's in the past. The C43 really is designed to compete against the 440i, not the M2. The 43 interior is much nicer. However, the M2 is much more rare & has a more raw/visceral driving experience.
