Just saw a used 2016 LBB 6MT M2 at Halifax BMW for $68K (10K kms). Black gills and grills, M Performance steering wheel. So essentially no depreciation and even PDI put back in to the asking price. Just an FYI if anyone is impatient and desperate to get one

Must be gthal car, I think he had those parts on his.

Either way, not bad for anyone who wants to sell their car, 100%+ of MSRP after first year is very promising.

Hey Ontario M2 owners, if anyone tracked their Germany -> Halifax -> Ontario timeline, can you guys chime in on the Halifax -> Ontario leg of the journey and tell me approx. how many days it took to get to ON? My car landed in Halifax on April 7, so should be soon.

I just got a speeding ticket on Apr. 16. and so I haven't been 'convicted' yet. I haven't got the car yet either, so I haven't activated the M2 insurance. I guess I could do that right now to avoid insurance giving me a hard time.

Wow that's a long wait already. Mine landed on April 22 and I figured 10 days max. So it seems at least 2-3 weeks from Halifax to TO? That really sucks.

2-3 weeks is average, depends on how bad the back up at the rail yard is. Early last year when the first few arrived it was over 5 weeks because of backups.

Yep... it's mine. Loved the car. Very hard to depart with it.

It was one of the best cars I've owned and definitely one of the most fun. It was second to only one other car I've owned... which is why I sold it. Decided I wanted to go back to a Corvette Grand Sport. However, to convince my wife that it wasn't a completely stupid idea, I sold the M2 and bought a Golf R. It's a very fun car too... although it isn't an M2! It will be my daily driver and I'm now in the hunt for the C7 GS. Might be next summer at this point but that's the plan.

Miss the M2 for sure!

Check here in NB - if memory serves me right there was one available soon at either Moncton or Freddy.

I have my MK6 Golr R as a daily driver and I love it so much. The M2 is my weekend car and I just love it a little more

Good luck for your C7 GS.

As far as coatings go, you usually hear about CQuartz Finest and Opti-Coat Pro as the staple products done by the pro shops. They also do a paint correction before applying the product to seal in that shine, cost around $1300 if the vehicle is brand new off the lot, could be more for older cars due to longer prep.

Free doesn't always equal good. I 'd be careful.
Hey Guys,

Recently came on board as a detailing sponsor and wanted to show an example of our work on a Mineral Grey M2 we applied Opti Coat Pro too.

Arrival

Cleaning the wheels

Measuring the paint

Masking off the rubber and plastic trim

Before

After

Mineral Grey Metallic flake looking beautiful

Removing residue from the stone guard edge

Opti Coat Pro about to go on and we applied 2 coats to the paint

And the final results of our work

It was a huge pleasure to work on this M2 and thank you to the owner for choosing us to perform the work. Hope you guys enjoyed the pics!

Thanks,
Wes

Wes do you work with anyone that does protective film? I'm taking delivery of the same car soon and want paint prep, film, and coating.

Wes your work looks amazing. With respect to Auto Links being in a different location than you how does it work logistically?

Here is another one, this time a Long Beach Blue which came in brand new with only 50km on the odometer. Owner was an existing client who had previously brought us his 1 series for paint correction and now wanted to protect the new toy with Opti Coat Pro.

Paint was not bad at all but we still applied Opti Primer via machine to burnish the paint which squeezed out more "pop" from the metallic flake as well as applied a double coat of Opti Coat Pro which made the shine unreal!

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Arrival with the window sticker still on

Claybarring the paint which did feel a little rough. Probably from transportation.

Measurements just to insure there were no surprises

Opti Coat Primer

Applied via machine

Flake popping!

And then Opti Coat Pro applied. To the paint, headlights, taillights, door jambs, and exhaust

And finally the finished pics which were sadly taken on an overcast day. But the shine was still beautiful!

Can't get enough of these cars! Probably my favourite out of the current M line up. Looking forward to more!

Hope you enjoyed the pics

Thanks,
Wes

Wait times in Canada lately

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a gauge on how the wait times are for the M2 in Canada? I know it depends on dealer wait list, allocations, etc., but in general are we seeing it start to decrease a bit since last year?

Brand new Alpine White M2 in for a new car prep and Opti Coat Pro.

Not much back story to this one, client stopped by the shop, scheduled a date, and in it came.

Arrival

Only 45km

Cleaning the wheels

A bit of rail dust that needed Iron X to address it

Claybarring the paint with the Nanoskin Mitt

And quick measurements of the paint

Opti Coat Primer applied via machine

Opti Coat Pro about to be applied

To the paint

Headlights

Taillights

Doorjambs

Wheel faces

And the exhaust

And finally the finished pics

I love the reflections off the hood

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Thanks,
Wes
