Those of you in the US who have gotten on lists at dealers: were you also able to get the dealers to agree to pricing? Or are you putting deposits down/getting on lists with the chance that the dealer will add mark ups?

Just trying to figure out how the process works so I can get moving!

Same here, $1k deposit, 2019 model, MSRP. In writing (in an email, from the SA). At the time, March 8th, there wasn't much known about the M2C (pricewise), so the order is technically for a 2019 M2, but considering the M2C is the only model, its the same thing.

On list without deposit at 2 dealers, been on list for almost a year at one and 8 months with the other. I know one will do MSRP and the not certain about the other. #2 at one and #3 at the other. I haven't had to put a deposit down for a long time to get on a list.

I've seen much less serious "lists" that don't take deposits. Are you getting a purchase order without a deposit? Having a reservation without knowing the price seems worthless to me.

I've already ordered several cars from the one dealer and know exactly what I'm getting and not worried about it. I was just sharing my situation. I don't need anything in writing in the one case. I'm sure that's not much help to you as this is not the norm and I wouldn't trust most dealers without something written. Probably should not have posted a response in this case.

I'm on the local list. Marketing manager and I have been talking on and off and I stop by to visit the dealer about once a week. He took my CC #for a deposit but said he won't charge until he can confirm the order is placed and has a build date. MSRP and not a penny over. He also said if any incentives come up during the order process he'll apply them.
