I would actually pay a small premium for iDrive (incl NAV) delete. It's worse than useless.

The M3 has a lot of money tied up in the motor, with all those coolers and boost control ect.
I would expect that this car should be around 12k less than the M3, even if it has all of the chassis goodness of the M3. As pumped as I am about the M2, Id rather have a 'base' M3 with a stick and no options than an M2 with a few options if the price difference was only 5-7 grand.

I still think there's a good chance it'll be right at 50k ish. I'm basing that off what the CLA45 AMG costs

Mostly due to the fact that you'll be able to get an M3 for close to or at ED Invoice whereas the M2 will be new and demand a higher price out of the gate... |

The AMG starts at $48.5. I can't imagine BMW going and making the M2 $55k or something like that. Just way too big of a gap IMHO.

Well I have got half that saved so far, so keeping it at AMG competitive pricing would be great.

A $49k M2 is uncomfortably close to a mildly optioned M235i. A $55k M2 better lines up with M235i pricing, but then starts to squeeze into M4 territory after adding some options. Quite the dilemma for BMW.

It'll be interesting for sure. Also, I think they have to watch out for the F80 as well. While it may not be a coupe, if the price between an M2 and M3 is close enough (M3 starts lower than M4), I can see many people not being too interested in the M2 IMHO. I honestly think very low $50k is doable (with no options).

$53,650...M235+M4 price/2
There's my speculated guesstimation.

A loaded (bloated?) 435i can get damn close to 60k, which would logically put the M2 at 55-57k... which will still be a great car with a stick and no bs like $8k carbon brakes or parking sensors and cameras- which of course is ridiculous on any car smaller than a suburban... oh wait, our gov't will require back up cameras on all cars, because people cannot turn their fat bodies to look at a mirror, just as they cannot unscrew a valve stem to check tire pressure.
Continuing my off topic rant... I would almost be OK with mandatory car cameras, if they used the money charged for the damn things to subsidize advanced driver training for anyone with a license.

Don't like it. Don't want it. Older head unit and steering wheel controls please. Bluetooth speaker/headset is the only new feature I want. |

For all those that want raw and no fancy Idrive etc just buy a 1M no???
This car will have idrive, and it won't be an option to delete, hopefully nav is included too IMO. |
