Like the GT4, I bet it's MT only...then there's a smaller chance it could be faster than the M4 GTS.
LOL that occurred to me this morning.

I love it. Make it manual only. That means for sure it will give up a few tents to the M4 GTS.

It also rules out wishy washy dudes/chicks with Significant others that are so * selfish and out of touch with their spouses and yet they refuse to learn to drive a manual.

Hell, I'll take original 1M owners. LOL! Was just trying to narrow it down for the ole dad. Gotta get mine first...but not at 100k, I'll pass that on to you! Haha!

Unless you put your name down now, you probably won't get one. Use the strategy that future GT3 owners use, put a deposit down when rumors start!

Agreed - and it would be a nice distinguishing characteristic for the M2 GTS, one that might actually attract more enthusiasts.

Even the 991/981 is too comfortable on passive dampers imho. But thats more testament to P engineers ability considering how flat they corner and how they handle in general.
Totally understand where you're coming from - I bought the wrong car for my needs and that's my own fault.

I have been considering the X73 fixed sports suspension for my car to get a more aggressive experience - I am not sure my gf would like it, but hey, maybe she doesn't need to know.

I seriously bet that's what they do, if this car ever comes to fruition - it just makes the most sense. And like we will probably never see a GT4 with the PDK, any future version of this car will likely never see the DCT either.

I agree... Considering the universal praise the M2 has gotten (after a somewhat lukewarm reception to the M3/M4 by the media), an M2 GTS would really keep the ball rolling for BMW.

Some see BMW as diverging from its roots, and I think they are starting to listen... and take it personally.

M2, M4 GTS, M3/M4 ZCP, ....M2 GTS... That's a hell of a lineup...These are all killer cars for any brand to make.

I'm not a fan of the S55 exhaust note. Hate to complain about something like that but I'd rather see a factory turbo upgrade on the N55.

Have you heard the new F8x ZCP in person?

The ZCP fixes what most people don't like about the stock non-competition S55.

Isn't that just because it's got a performance exhaust which you could option onto the regular non ZCP?

It has the M Sport exhaust, which I don't believe you can just "buy" without the ZCP option. But that's not the only thing that makes it sound better, there are some DME tuning tricks, not to mention the aggressive overrun. The ZCP sounds much better than the non-ZCP F8x due to these changes.

@1:42

Still sounds tinny to me

Thought the sport and m performance were the same thing but upon further googling, they aren't.

I have. While better than the original sound, which was just disgusting trash, it is still not as good as a stock M2 exhaust. It isn't even as good as the B58 straight six in the 340i. I know, I've made it my personal mission to hate the S55, but it's because the S55 isn't an M engine. It's an Audi engine with a crappy exhaust. It doesn't climb and soar, it doesn't howl and growl. It's efficient, powerful but totally uninspiring and workmanlike in how it delivers that power. If it sounded better, it would be easy to forgive the power delivery, but since we'll all be spending most of our time driving within the speed limit, it's just unacceptable as an engine in an M-car.

Oh yes, crazy how some enthusiasts care about "subjective stuff like involvement." The next thing you know, they'll have varying interests in subjective stuff like exterior paint, interior trim, styling, and God knows what other nonsense! I'm one of those foolish drivers who still enjoys the engaging experience of a proper 6-speed. I guess I'm just not interested in a sports car with an automatic transmission where you only need one foot and one hand to drive it. I do enjoy other oxymorons, though. Jumbo shrimp are absolutely delicious.

Back seats and roll cages are kind of at odds with each other.

No! This ain't your father's Oldsmobile! Or a soft cushy M2

When the letters GTS or CSL are bandied about , it's time to leave grandma-ma and the kids at home, ok?

Where is homey the clown, again ? He appeared on page 4 and is needed again. STAT!
