If you read approx. 331kW output figures (450hp metric - 444hp mech) somewhere, then that's about the 2019 mystery track-tool M2 (M2 GTS or M2 CSL). Limited version. Personally I don't know of any such car in the wild yet as we speak.

My only concern about the CS is the sound from the S55.

As somebody who absolutely hates the sound of the S55, I must admit it fits the character of the M2 CS much more than the M3 and M4. I think the performance benefit and potential will outweigh any negatives when it comes to the sound. From inside the cabin it's honestly not too bad, it's just the exterior that sounds like complete trash. If you can pay attention to some of the M4CS reviews, these cars don't have active sound.

Thanks for the tidbit SCOTT26
Do you know or have an idea about whether or not we will get to see an M2 CSL for the current generation of the M2 ? Not sure how high your sources are but would also like to know if you knew what lessons were learnt by BMW M after the M4 GTS ? That will tell us a little bit about the direction that BMW M will take with upcoming models. Really think that an M2 CSL would be very similar to the E46 M3 CSL and I am just thinking about it. |

I have not seen anything in regards to confirm about an M2 GTS only the CS. Of course there will have to be lessons learned and ideas underused from the GTS and implemented within the M4. CSL.

Let's say my dealer says ok I'll take a deposit. Will I still be able to order it how I would like it if and when my number comes up?
I still don't like the LCI gauges. Much rather prefer the analog style. |

Confirmation of an M4 CSL
From 2ertalk: http://www.2ertalk.de/topic/2533-bmw...hread/page-154 So. The info I received yesterday in Munich was the following: 100% sure that the CS model from the end of 2017 to be ordered. Additional costs approx. 8-10k € CS model is not limited to unit numbers, this is supposed to be the GTS. Motor: no information Leasing initially not possible Discount 0% These were the statements of the M-Modell VK Best regards Also talk resumes of M2 Competition replacing base M2. |

No idea about pricing yet, but don't forget the 'à la carte' approach of making the more track-oriented goodies optional (think for example one-piece seats, bigger brakes, lightweight wheels, delimited V-max), allowing to keep the M2 CS base price attractive. Don't expect all that to be standard features. IMHO that would make sense as strategy to position the M2 CS in the ///M model line-up.
When loaded with options:
