Tool32 -> connect to car (ENET or K+DCAN) with ign on, load S55.prg -> find job steuern_soundtuning_deak, enter 1 in the argument box, and run job once. This is likely the routine that bimmercode or bimmerlink are using. In Tool32 the job status_soundtuning_deak will tell you if it's active (0) or burble inactive (1)

Slightly off topic but if I am to purchase an app to do this and other coding is bimmerlink or bimmercode the same or is one superior?

Bimmerlink focuses on diagnosis (and the burble "soundtuning" setting) and Bimmercode is for coding changes to the car settings (but not burble / pops settings)

I used BimmerCode to disable ASD / fake engine noise and BinmerLink to disable the exhaust burbles.
Annoying to have to pay for two apps but oh well. |

I was able to disable ASD and burbles with Bimmerlink. It also kept the changes.

So after some digging around it seems that bimmerlink doesn't actually save your settings once you turn off the car. If I purchase the app and set my flaps to open all the time, will it revert to default after I disconnect and turn off the car?

It must, because I disabled burbles once, and havent plugged in the obd unit once since. Burbles remain off. This was months ago.

But TUNEDM3 above said that BimmerLink did keep their changes for ASD. So idk - YMMV. I guess I'd start with buying BimmerCode since you'll for sure need that for the burbles ("sound tuning"). Then try to use it for ASD. If it works for ASD - great! If not, then get BimmerCode 🤷*♂️ |

I think that is only possible with a tune.

Ah that makes sense. I used Bimmercode for everything except using link for burbles, so everything I changed has stuck without the need to have the app/adapter going.

I'm 21 and embarrassed by the burbles haha. I wish it was as simple as fiddling with some setting in iDrive. Thx for making this thread, right when my factory expires I'm puttin an end to them.

FWIW, I'm still under factory warranty and have Bimmerlink/Code. No mention of factory warranty being voided when I brought it in for break-in service.

I gotta say despite being happy without having burbles 99.9% of the time, I find myself sometimes wishing they were there.
It would be pretty neat if I could make it so that burbles are off in Sport mode but on in Sports+. Would work perfectly for me since I'm usually not in Sports+ while buzzing around town. |

If you're on bm3, they just released an update and you should live burble adjustment.
