Per Visual . . . did you get your car aligned after placing new wheels/tires? Not sure if alignment would explain your problem, but I know it is important in general. ///AVM |

I am used to 255/275 for my summer tires (PS4S): zero issues, excellent grip and no regrets. I know that VisualEcho is vocal about sticking to 245/265, but to each his own. For winter tires (Pirelli Sottozero, Michelin Pilot Alpin, etc.) 255/275 is IMHO too much.

Everything you state, as usual, makes perfect sense . . . I THINK brother Kutta simply does not want to give up the aesthetic by going to less wide/square tire setup. ///AVM |

I never really heard of anyone having any issues with 245 squared, quite the contrary. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=23870001 The OP is barely touching the fender trim with 255s, dropping it down a notch to 245s should not at all rub, one would assume. Or, if you really want to play it safe, 235s at all four corners would work fine also. |

Right, while this thread like most will move in different directions, the concern I am hearing from other folks is that anything but OEM sized PSS will rub. Thats a concern still. I've had a good chance to look at this issue, and its the ridge/kink in the liner, especially where it peaks near the air vents. Not sure whats back there to cause the kink, and I'm also not sure why anyone would put a design feature in a fender liner

Although I agree with you in general, the 245 is probably as small as I'd go on the M2 with a 10" rear wheel. Even the stock 265 is stretched, and the 245 Sottozero is quite a bit skinnier than the stock 265 MPSS.

I double checked today.
Full lock and I can still fight a finger inbetween the fender liner and my tire . 255 / 35r19 clears by a finger at full lock in my 2020 bmw m2 competition. So I wonder if 437s come in different offsets . |

With 19" wheels on the M2/M2C/M2 CS (437M / 788M / 763M), my rule of thumb is either to remain stock size (245/265 - either for summer or winter tires) or move 1 size up (255/275 - for summer tires) or drop 1 size down (235/255 - for winter tires). 18" wheels is a different story. As known, that wheel size only fits an OG M2 or an M2C featuring stock brakes. An M2C featuring the 2NH M Sport Brakes (stock brakes on an M2 CS) requires 19" wheels because of the brake calipers size. Winter wheels offered by BMW for the M2 in my country: 640M (18") or 641M (19"):

You have sucked me into the mystery . . . You have the best of the best chiming in when it comes to knowledgable enthusiasts . . . Poochie, Artemis, VisualEcho, etc I am not one of them, just an interested party. I remain curious . . . (1) did you get car aligned after installing new wheels/tires? (2) can you confirm your wheels are legit via serial number or some related method? I have a hard time believing your wheel-well is just a little tighter than most others produced. . . but, willing to accept it if you are as well. ///AVM |

Thanks Rob. Your wheel is turned past the rub point for me. Using your pic, I've circled the ridge in the liner which I believe is the culprit in my case.

1) I did not get an alignment after install - Related, several have chimed in with rubbing issues with narrower tires, I'm not the only one with a special liner 2) How can I verify this? Thanks |
