Mine doesn't activate? Even when the button is to the left. Is there a setting for it?

On mine the switch needs to be to the right (drivers mirror) for it to work, have you tried that?

I suspect it's probably an oversight in catering for RHD cars. It would make sense for a LHD vehicle.

Ah very true. But that being said, to make the mirror dip on my M3 the switch needs to be to the left. Either glad I know to make it work now. Thanks again Prodigy.

With left-hand drive cars, who would have thought the switch would have to be on the left for the mirror on the right?

You'd think with simple coding they would fix that!

Google BlackVue interference and DAB+ radio. They don't get along. I spent hours fitting my 2-channel BlackVue cam and power magic pro to the car with hidden wiring etc only to find it totally screws up the DAB+ radio reception. There's lots of so called fixes around but in reality, if I had the camera operating ANYWHERE in the car or powered from any of the four available 12V sockets or tapped into the rear fuse box my radio reception was rooted.

The absence of unfunny radio DJs and Frank Walker national tiles ads on DAB was such a godsend I prioritised it over my Blackbue so I ripped the latter out.

I get this too, it because of the rear camera. I've put a couple of ferrite beads around the cable and it's helped but not solved completely.
I get far fewer drops in signal now, haven't had time to really try and sort it out. Often I'm streaming music but do want to have reliable DAB signal.

It never twigged that the Blackvue could be causing the dropouts in the DAB, tbh i don't listen to the radio that much but have noticed it dropping out occasionally when i do. Any recommendations on the ferrite beads?

Just installed my BlackVue and had the same issues with DAB. I moved the rear camera away from the shark fin (middle left) and now it's perfect no dropouts.

Would you mind letting me know how far across you moved it? Any chance of a pic?

Cheers

I never thought that'd be it either. I took it back to BMW complaining!
They had the car for the day and eventually gave said it's the camera cause it works fine with the rear one unplugged.
I appreciated that they found the issue but did nothing about actually fixing my problem. Very much a, "it's not a fault with BMW, the rest is your problem".

Among the many things I tried, I did unplug the coax cable for the rear camera at the front end and my DAB signal was still no good. I completely removed all cabling and just sat the front camera on the passenger seat and plugged it into the lighter socket and radio reception instantly dropped out as soon as the camera had power.

Conclusion: the main camera itself leaks EMR like a sieve. Ferrite rings and alternative cable routing is an exercise in frustration. Maybe my camera is particularly "noisy" but I'm not going to spend more money with BlackVue to find out.

That said, it was a great unit in my old 135 with analogue radio.
