I think they're just screwing with us at this point. No idea when we will see the car = lots of fun for BMW.

With production set date on the horizon, the reveal must be either Geneva or New York. Don't get discouraged if the M2 isn't on the press release for the shows.
Fingers still tightly crossed for this car.

I am holding out for Geneva - if it doesn't show up there, I will be pursuing the M3 more aggressively and putting the M2 on the back burner a bit.

On an unrelated note, I'm having seconds thought about getting rid of my E36. Even if it's completely frozen right now:

And I agree on getting what you want - every single car I have ever had has been a compromise of some kind - I am finally in a place where I can determine what it is I want, and go ahead and get it. I am excited for that kind of process.

[QUOTE=W///;17413744]For me, this next car is going to be a lot of things. It's going to be my very first car I purchase new (whether F80, M2 or even a 3er wagon), so I have to be 100% sure everything is exactly as I want it. I'll wait as long as it's necessary.

W///....please tell me SC under your avatar doesn't mean South Carolina. If it was Stoney Creek, my place, I'd understand lol. But hey...that frozen TV look is cool...and yes, the pun is intended

Needless to say, everything is closed today, including work. Got nothing to do but look at M2 stuff, but no new material unfortunately! I can't see myself keeping the E92 (that's not going anywhere), the E36 and getting an M2 haha. That's one too many coupes. I'm beginning to wonder if I should go: A) E92 M3, M2 and 4Runner B) E92 M3, E36 M3, some kind of wagon/SUV like an E63 AMG Wagon, X3M (when they come out), or used CTS-V Wagon My mind doesn't do well when I have nothing to do apart from sit at home

I would say it depands on how much time you'll have for your cars. I L O V E D my E30 S54 but I have no time to drive it (drove it last time in august) and so i sold it because of the upcoming BMW M2. The M2 will also be my summer car but it is able to do more "daily jobs" than my E30 was.
Furthermore I do not understand the people who say "when the BMW M2 gets to expensive, I am going to buy a M3/M4". This are very different cars. For myself, I am not able to compare these 2 car concepts. The M2 will be the lovely little BMW sportscar every BMW lover is waiting for since years (excluded the limited 1M Coupe). A car for E36 M3 and E46 M3 owners. The actual BMW M3 / M4 for me is a car for E92 M3 owners. The sizes are that huge ... i feel the M3 F80 is more a modern M5 than a M3, coming from the E46 M3. Made some research about the sizes ... the M2 will fit for me, the M4 REALLY not. BMW M4 4671 1870 1383 E46 M3 4492 1780 1372 BMW M235i 4432 1774 1408 |
