What are the chances someone (Dinan?) develops a program to turn off the rev-match feature?

Dinan is getting a car. Ask them 800.341.5480.

its a great feature to have for comfort driving, sometimes its tough to rev match if you are commuting to work in dress shoes (for those of us that plan to DD this car)

but in sport mode, that feature should be off

Wouldn't someone have done it already on the M3 and M4 if it could somehow be programmed?

I didn't think M3/4 had rev match but then again I have not followed those much.

I think only the 340i had synchro rev-matching before the M2 came along. Could be updated now though, I have not checked in some time.

Blame Nissan. Didn't they start this crap with the 350 or 370z?

Learn something new every day. As you can see, I'm not that knowledgeable about BMW's.

Yeah, the Nismo 370Z got it. Except you can turn it off without turning the car into a death machine. Lol.

but are you able to disable the rev match feature without disabling traction control on the M3/4?

No,it works the same way as the M2.You have to select sport plus to turn off rev matching, which also turns off DSC.

Nope. There's a button conveniently located near the shifter that engages and disengages the system (called SynchroRev Match / S-Mode).

The system is independently configurable from the VDC (Nissan's "DSC")

I'm really hoping that engineers, executives, EVERYONE at BMW can explain why they couldn't make this feature independent from the DSC Off button.

You have to go out of your way to make it this way if M3/M4 doesn't have this feature. Seriously, WTF? It just feels like, they are trying to truly find a way to eventually kill the manual so they get better margin profits.

My apologies for the mixup, misread your quote.

Even Nissan can do this and the 370Z has been out for an entire generation already. BMW needs to address this.

Seems like it's easily doable. ..
Really confusing why BMW configured it this way.

I've ordered an M2 pure and I feel like this feature is going to inherently piss me off.

And why call it a 'pure' if I can't do my own rev-matching unless the traction control off which seems mental!

So the car has one negative , and you go all

LOL.

Learn about BMW coding and have this coded out as soon as you get the car. Will cost you under $150 and takes 15 minutes and the Car is fixed. Easiest fix ever.
